"Y/N! Get up! You don't want to be late for school on the first day!" Your mom calls. You pull your bed sheets over your head and groan. You hate the morning.
"Give me a minute." You argue. "I'm giving you three minutes. If you're not out of bed by then, you're grounded."
You roll out of bed, and look over at your dresser. There's a school uniform for Karasuno High where you will begin your first year of high school.
You put on the uniform and go downstairs. You scramble for some breakfast and soon shove a chocolate muffin in your mouth. As you go to brush your teeth, it all hits you. You're starting a new year at a new school, new people, and new teachers. Nothing would be the same.
"Are you okay?" Your mother asks. You turn around to find she's been looking at you. "Oh I was just thinking. I guess I'm a little nervous." You mumble.
"It's okay. All of the other first years will be new, too." Your mom comforts you. You pull yourself together and go finish getting ready.
~Time skip 20 minutes later~
You walk up to the front office all alone. Your mom couldn't walk to school with you, because she had to go take care of your little sister Hiroko who has a fever, that's been going on for one week.
You fix your tie as you walk in the office.
"Hello Y/N! Nice to meet you!" Some random old lady greets you as she jumps out of her seat and smiles, enthusiastically.
"Hello." You say quietly. You shake her hand and look at the ground.
"I'm Miss Bailey, one of the assistant workers here, but you can just call me Miss. B. Did you know your old teacher Mrs. Frank is one of my good friends? She told me so much about you!" She introduces herself.
"That's nice." You mumble. She grabs a couple books and hands you them.
"You'll need these for school. Follow me, and I'll show where your first class will be!" Miss. B says as she skips out the door.
You're walking to the class in silence. It's a little awkward until Miss. B starts a conversation. "I heard you love reading and were the best reader in your class!" "Oh yeah. I like reading." You say. The rest of the way is silent. As you pass the small classrooms you come across tons of people. There's way more people than there were at your old school. That makes you more nervous.
"This is it! Good luck!" Miss. B waves. You take a deep breath and fix your hair.
"It won't be bad. Everyone in there is new." You say to yourself. You open the door. "You're late." An old man standing in front of the classroom says as he pulls down his glasses. The whole class looks at you in silence. You take a seat at the only empty chair in the back of the class.
"Um that's not your chair..." Someone next to the chair says. "Oh shut up Kenta! She didn't know." A boy across the class defends you. He had orange hair like a tangerine with a white hoodie and sweatpants on. He got a chair in the back of the classroom along with an extra desk he could barely carry, but he pushed himself until it was perfect.
"Here. Is that good?" He asked. "Yes. It's perfect. Thank you." You say. He scratches the back of his head, blushing, and walks back to his seat. You sit down and smile.
"Manami, why don't you show Y/N around the school?" The teacher requests. A girl by you stands up.
"Hello! I'm Manami!" She introduces herself. "Hi. I'm Y/N." You say. "Follow me. I'm gonna show you around the school!" "Okay." You both walk out of the classroom. "Here are the lockers. This is yours, this is mine, and this is Hinata's." She explains. "Who's Hinata?" You ask. "Oh, he's the guy that got your desk ready. Anyways, the bathrooms are over here-" "I have a random question. How do you know where everything is if this is your first year?" You ask. "There was a toor this morning, but you missed it. It's okay though. It was lame anyways. I know the school well because my mom is an assistant here. Have you met Miss. Bailey?" "Oh yeah. That's cool." You explain.
~Time skip at lunch~
It's time for the thing you're most nervous about. Lunch. You have no friends and it will be totally awkward sitting around doing nothing.
You sit at a table in the back all alone. You start looking at your phone to make it seem less awkward, to find it's dead. You pretend you're on instagram and swipe your finger up and down. "Hahahahaha!" You say to make it seem more realistic. "What's so funny?" You hear a voice say. It's Manami.
"Oh hi Manami! It's nothing really." You say, embarrassed. "Oh come on! It had to be something! Everyone heard you laughing." "It was just a funny tv show..." You explain as you throw the phone in your backpack. "Well there's a couple people I want you to meet. You already know Hinata, but this is Hayato and Daiki. They're dating."
"Okay." You say. "Nice to meet you all." They all sit down. Your starving so you immediately open your bag with your lunch inside, as your stomach growls. This morning, you asked your mom if she could make you a quick lunch because you didn't have time. She said yes even though she had a lot to do. She made the best lunches. Expecting something amazing, you look down in the bag to find... nothing. You're mom forgot to pack your lunch.
"Oh no." You mumble, sadly. "What's wrong?" Manami asks. "Well my mom forgot to pack my lunch and I was pretty hungry, but it's okay. I guess I can wait until after school to eat." You sigh. "You can have my egg sandwich if you want." Hinata offers. "So you give out your whole sandwich every time someone forgets to bring lunch? How ridiculous!" Manami makes fun of Hinata.
You're surprised. You didn't expect something mean to ever come out of Manami's mouth. "I mean it's nice but aren't you hungry?" She corrects herself. "Actually, I'm not too hungry. I'll be fine with just this apple and chips." Hinata explains. "Thank you." You reply.
