(Didn't proof read, sorry. I might edit it later)Me and Ginny were in the car with the hood down waiting for our mom to say her goodbye to Austin and drop us off. "Is this it? This is nothing, Hogwarts makes this look like a joke" Mom said. "Yeah." Mumbled a very shy Austin. "Would Harry Potter be scared." She looked down at him. "No, but Ron would." I laughed at there connections with Harry Potter. "Yeah, well Ron's a pussy." She responded. "Mom!" I yelled in shock. "Ok now soldier." Austin turned to her. "10-hut!" She stood like a solider.
"Remember you win more flys with honey if you get yourself a bee." She ducted down to his level. "Sting first crucial." He proudly said. "OOOOO!" My mom yelled. Austin hugged her bringing back memories of when my mom used to do the same on my first day.
They kept on hugging until these group of kids started making fun of them. I threw my water bottle at the kid in the middle. It him in the eye. Bullseye! Mom looked back at me with a "are you serious?" look but I just looked down. They were now done letting Austin roam free in school.

Me and Ginny awkwardly walked into the classroom just for the teacher to stop us. "Virginia and Corina, uh I should warn you that we keep a rigorous pace in AP English, the AP students take this very seriously, so if my class proves to be too much for you I suggest you do yourself a favor and move down to regular English, ok? I hate to see you bite off more than you can chew." I rolled my eyes at him, obviously looking down. I mean, first impression are very important.
"Uh we cover all the grades Steinbeck, Salinger, Miller, Homer, Hits Gerald, and Shakespeare, of course. Uh sixteen books total." He continued before handing us each a piece of paper of what books we should get. "It's Core." It's Ginny." Ginny and I both said before walking off. "Ughh, I feel like I'm in a Crest commercial." Ginny turned to me. "Tell me about it." I joked.
"Welcome back, AP English. Hiding in the back of the classroom there you will find our new students, Virginia Miller and Corina Aguilar. I trust you will make her feel welcomed." The teacher said whose name I now know, Gitton. "Have you seen this list." I whispered to Ginny. I got a scoff for a response. "Uh don't worry Virginia and Corina, I don't expect you to have read it." Ginny and I both raised our hands. "Oh yeah Virginia you have a question?"
Uh oh this isn't gonna be good. But...if you can't beat em' join em' .
"There are sixteen books on this syllabus." Ginny asked. "Yes, like I said, you can always drop down- "14 of them are written by men."
Like I said...join em'
"15 of them were written by white people." I spoke up. "And I'm willing to make a guess that one black author will crop into the syllabus just in time for black history month. Am I right?" She finished. "Excuse me?" He looked like someone just finally told him the truth. "You see, we're very serious about our education, Mr. Gitton." I joined in. "We're worried we might internalize a ideology that the main view point, the view point where the studying in class- "the point of the grades. Is only that of the white male...Ginny cut me off and kept on telling off Gitton. "Oh and also we have read the Crucible, and we're confident that we can take the pop quiz today. I said.
"Are you quite through Virginia and Corina?" He questioned. "No." I simply responded. "Please call us Ginny and Core." Ginny smiled. I high-five her with a large grin on my face. "Well I don't know how things were done in your last school, Virginia and Corina, but here we don't tolerate political outbursts and gran standing, at the expense of your peers class time." Gitton frustratedly said. "Hi, I'm like also super concerned about my self conscious digestion of the superiority of the white male perspective, and also I have period cramps so can I go to the nurse." A black haired girl with a very bright pink sweater said.
