Hiro's P.O.V.
Thank goodness...Peace at last...The fresh air, the quiet area, lush, colorful environment, this is...life. It is life for me in a nutshell (maybe only a part of life...) We sat down at a bench near the bridge, and sighed. She looked away for a while, gazing at the cherry blossoms' petals drifting to the ground, and said, "...You know ever since the very first time I studied here, this was practically my domain. Not many people come here because they're too excited to go home to use their futuristic gadgets. But...I wasn't very...addicted to those things. I mainly like drawing, especially on this time of the year. Oh! That reminds me, I should be sketching the blossoms right now before they run out of their petals." I thought of leaving her with some quiet time, and asked her, "Umm, should I go? I mean, to give you some concentration? It's oka-" again, my voice was cut by her stammering one, as if begging me to stay. "N-no! I-it's fine. You can stay as long as you want..." she said. *Okay then...* I said in my mind, sitting beside her as she draws pretty little cherry blossoms on her sketchpad. I decided to bring out my Holophone from my backpack and fiddle with it for a while. I opened the same way I did this morning, and called Gogo. It only beeped for a couple of times, and Gogo already answered my call. An image of her face appeared on the hologram, and waved at me greeting, "Hey, Hiro. That was quick. Sooo how's today?" I inhaled, preparing to tell the whole story. "Sigh, not so good. This day's even worse than I expected. There's this girl who's WAY too girly. But her name was Elliot Engrada. She's pretty, but for real, she's a snitch. She's the reason why our class was cut today, and how Abigail lost half of her salary...Just so that they can spend it to clean the bathrooms here. Can you believe it? Jeez!" I explained, almost exaggerating that I made Mika stop her sketching and laugh quietly. Gogo just smiled considerately and gave the line to Honeylemon, who was trying to make an experiment with diamonds that could turn into liquid, and a gas. "Hi Hiro!" Honeylemon said in a hyperactive voice. "I heard that your first day didn't turn out so well. So...Oh! Who's that new friend of yours beside you? She seems nice. What's her name?" she asked, trying to get a glimpse of Mika beside me. Mika attempted to slide near me, but was too shy to do so. But she did it anyway. "...Umm, hi there! Actually, my name's Mika Tsukishima. You're Honeylemon right?" Mika said to Honeylemon. The girl on the hologram nodded energetically in agreement. "Anyway, were just gonna stay here until Aunt Cass picks me up. B-" my voice was cut by Fred's voice. "Hey, hey, hey! Looks like Hiro's got a special someone!" he teased. I grunted in embarassment, and ending the talk.
"NAPOVP"
Hiro shrugged and put the Holophone back in his bag. "And, that's Fred. He's the one who makes the nicknames for all of them. There's Gogo, Wasabi, Honeylemon, and him." he said, opening a wrapper with two mocha mochis inside. He got the last piece and asked Mika, "You want one?" "Umm, sure! What flavor?" she asked, accepting the offer of the mochi. "Mocha. It's practically a popular flavor of mochis back in the café. It's weird that it's the only flavor customers eat there. You know I have a cat named Mochi, too." Hiro said. *Ugh, why are we talking about mochis? If I haven't talked to Elliot, this would be the first awkward conversation I've had with a girl in my life.* As Mika bit on her mochi, Hiro accidentally started talking about him, mochis, and...Tadashi. "You still heard of Tadashi right? Well, we used to eat these all the time before my parents died. Even when we saw the last piece, he'd always half it and give one of the halves to me...That was a, m-memorable time..." his voice started to get hoarse and he felt his eyes flooding with tears. He tried not to let the tears flow, but one teardrop slipped from his cheek. To prevent from showing his face to Mika, he grabbed his bag and ran away from the bench. Mika gasped in shock and said, "Hey! Wai-" Hiro ran at least 9 meters away from her, preventing him from hearing his worried friend.
Hiro's P.O.V.
This...this was not what I expected. I'm embarrassing myself twice today. Ugh, I thought I already moved on about Tadashi! Maybe it was that traumatizing, huh? Too traumatizing that I forced myself to forget about it. I crossed the bridge and sat against a wall, digging my face into my lap. Ah, the joys of being free to cry. No one watching you, judging you, nothing to bother your freedom. As all the tears began to pour out of my eyes, quiet footsteps cautiously approached me. Sigh, if only Baymax were here to comfort me. "...Hiro, it's gonna be okay. You know that Tadashi's not really gone as long as you remember him, but what I think, he's watching you here, feeling bad, and maybe crying as well...Look, if Baymax isn't around with you...maybe...I can be your Baymax? I mean, I can be here for you at any time of disappointment in you." the voice, who was Mika, said to me, as she sat down against the wall beside me, and hugging me. *!!! She's hugging me... that's...so sweet of her...* I said in my mind, as I quietly whimpered. I wiped the tears away with my jacket sleeve, and suddenly hugging her back. "Th-thanks for understanding, Mika. I've never met anyone like you. Well, except for Baymax, Gogo, Honeylemon, and Aunt Cass." I said, letting go of her grasp. She just smiled and leaned on my shoulder. And we just sat there, until the beeping of a car brings us back to reality. The voice of Aunt Cass came out the car window saying, "Hiro! Come on! It's time to go home!" I stood up, wiping my sticky face, and hugged Mika saying, "Last hug. See you soon!"See? I told you this chapter's happier!
and soooo sweeet!
