THIS CHAPTER IS NOT AN ACCURATE DEPICTION OF WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS EPISODE, I FLIPPED IT A BIT TO FIT MY STORY.
———"you've gotta wake up, amaya!"
"please! wake up!"
"wake up, dammit!" i felt myself being shaken. everything around me was crumbling and shaking.
"shit.."
i opened my eyes, taking a sharp breath in as my blurry vision focused on bakugou's sharp features. he was on his knees beside me, small cuts and scrapes tracing his porcelain skin. his arms around me, holding my head up.
"bakugou?" i asked looking up at him. he looked down at me, his wild hair blowing in the wind of the chaos around us.
"get up, we've got to move." he said, practically picking me up. he lead us aside as we watched the number one hero fight with some powerful looking villain.
"shit.. i'm in the way. why am i always in the way?" bakugou swore under his breath. i looked at him.
"you're not in the way bakugou—"
"look at what allmight is going through because of me. because i couldn't fight back and avoid being kidnapped." he said, his voice the tiniest bit weaker as he watched the scene in front of us..
"allmight.. might die.. and it will be all my fault.." he said lowly. my head snapped to him.
"bakugou, nobody blames you, and you shouldn't blame yourself. these people are the league of villains. a lot of pro heroes have a hard time fighting them off. you're not too weak, you're 16. allmight isn't going to die, and it's not your fault." he looked at me, eyes wide.
"he's in this situation because im not good enough to fight off the league-"
"bakugou, that's not true." i say, reassuringly.
"i'm serious, amaya!" he said sternly.
"i've never been good enough." he looked down, his bleach blonde hair covering his eyes. i stood up beside him as he stayed crouched. i slightly bent over, looping my left finger under his chin and tilting his head up. he looked up at me, the most vulnerable i'd ever seen him.
"i'm serious when i say this; you're more than enough, bakugou. you're amazing, truly. you're going to make an amazing #1 hero." i said, the emotion in my words enough to be felt from miles away.
"you were the only one to remember my name. if anyone at that school has the potential to be a hero, it's you." i spoke from my heart. even in middle school, he was the only one who acknowledged me. his dark red eyes sparkled in the dim moonlight.
"you deserve way more than you let yourself believe. you are adored by many already, bakugou; myself included." i put my right hand above my chest. he looked mesmerized, like no one had ever said that to him before... i know that's not true, people tell him that all the time, right?
surely so, he's obviously amazing.
his dim eyes swirled with strong emotion.
"look, i know im a nobody, but can you make me this one promise?" i asked, holding out my pinkie.
"promise me you'll stop being so hard on yourself all the time. promise you'll see yourself in a brighter light?" i asked. he looked down at my hand, slowly moving his toward mine. i felt the warmth of his hand on mine.
his eyes met mine again, our hands still touching. his eyes flickered down to my lips, which made my stomach do a backflip.
are we... is he....
