Yeonjun fucked up. Badly.

Basically he was supposed to meet up with Beomgyu for dinner with his boyfriends parents. It would have been his first time meeting them.

'Would have' meaning he was irresponsible and slept through the entire thing.

Beomgyu had stressed multiple times about how important it was for him and his parents to introduce Yeonjun during a nice dinner, as they wanted to see that Beomgyu was serious about him.

And when he didn't show up they were disappointed, going on and on about how Beomgyu wasted their time, his boyfriend was a joke and that they had to break up.

Needless to say Beomgyu hasn't spoken to Yeonjun in a week. He's even started sleeping in the guest bedroom.

Yeonjun has tried everything in the book of being sorry, at least the only one he could find in their local bookstore on such short notice.

He's tried making Beomgyu his favorite breakfast, he still didn't say a word to Yeonjun. He tried sending him flowers to his work, they ended up blooming in the trash. He tried making Beomgyu breakfast in bed, again didn't work.

There was one thing he didn't try. Actually saying sorry.

So as Beomgyu was doing some paperwork on the kitchen island, Yeonjun decided to interrupt.

"Beomgyu, please just listen to me for five minutes." Yeonjun begged, putting his hand on top of Beomgyu's.

Beomgyu just pulled his hand away, but still gave Yeonjun his attention.

"Baby, look I'm really sorry for missing dinner with your parents. I fucked up, I was an idiot and I really should have been more careful. I knew how much it meant to you and I still dismissed it. I'm really sorry." Yeonjun apologied.

Beomgyu bit the inside of his cheek, turning back to his paperwork.

"I'm still in the doghouse? Seriously? Beomgyu, please forgive me. I'll do anything." Yeonjun begged.

Beomgyu sighed.

"It's not just about the stupid dinner, Yeonjun. My parents think you're a joke. They think you're irresponsible and that you don't care about our relationship. It really hurt to hear them say those things. And it hurt even more to realize that maybe they were right." Beomgyu shrugged. "I told you time and again how important this dinner was to me, how important it was that you actually show up. The fact that you decided to take a nap instead of driving five minutes to meet my parents really disappointed me, Yeonjun. I thought I was more important to you than that."

Before Yeonjun could contradict what Beomgyu said, he picked up his papers and left the apartment.

Yeonjun was left by himself to dwell on the fact that he was a horrible boyfriend.

Beomgyu thought Yeonjun didn't care about him. He expected the absolute least out of Yeonjun and he still failed him.

Yeonjun felt terrible.

He loved Beomgyu more than anyone, and he disappointed him. He hurt the only person in the world he promised not to.

Yeonjun knew what he needed to do.

Beomgyu was the most important person in Yeonjuns life, he needed to remind him of that.

So he immediately stood up, grabbed his car keys and he was out the door.

Yeonjun spent the last two days preparing his surprise for Beomgyu. His boyfriend was doing the absolute best to avoid Yeonjun, so hiding this secret wasn't exactly a challenge.
