Memories of the Past

I leaned on the wall, watching Yuya's duel with Gongenzaka. My feet were in the room with Yuzu, but my mind was elsewhere. Pointless. It was all so pointless. So many questions were running through my mind.

I was brought back to reality by Yuzu yelling, "Take this seriously, Yuya!" as she slammed her hands on the machine in front of her, causing it to start to break. She let out a squeal as she covered her face with her hands.

"What are you doing, Yuzu?" Yuzu's dad, Shuzo Hiragi, asked as he burst into the room.

"I'm sorry, Dad." Yuzu replied before Shuzo started going on about not being able to teach with passion, or something stupid like that. I tuned him out and went hack to my thoughts.

              « * *~~~~~~~~~** »

I half listened to Yuya and Yuzu playing the blame game about who's fault it was the machine broke. I heard Gongenzaka say something about Yusho making everyone smile with his dueling. Yusho Sakaki, my dad, thinking about him made me uncomfortable.

I started getting interested when I heard Strong Ishijima's manager, Nico Smiley, come into the room. Why would he be here? I listened to him starting to invite Yuya to Strong Ishijima's fan appreciation day when he noticed me standing in the corner of the room.

"And are you Akemi Sakaki?" I got asked, but before I could answer he continued talking. "You were also missing the first two years your dad was missing, correct?"

"That is correct." I answered him, not liking where this is going.

"And you were with him, correct? Do you know where he is now?" I got asked again.

"I was with him, but I don't know where he is now," I answered coldly. I was getting really annoyed at this point. I was getting ready to storm out of the room.

"You must have some idea," he pestered me.

"I do, but if he is where I think he is, he has much more important things to do, rather than duel someone for a meaningless title. And before you ask, the people where we were have much better things to do, and don't know where he is. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm leaving." I snapped at him, quickly walking out of the room.

I walked down the silent halls, the only sound being the echo of my footsteps in the hallway. I pulled a photo out of my pocket and sighed while looking at it.

The photo showed four teens. Two girls and two boys. I missed them so much. It pained me every day to not know if they're okay... or not. I put the photo away and walked the rest of the way home, lost in my own hopes and worries.
