"Bye honey! Take care of yourself!!!" Mum shouted, attracting the gaze of a few of my classmates, as I walked towards the bus. Talk about embarrassing parents. I waved back and quickly climbed up the bus to avoid further embarrassment. It was 6:30 A.M. and the sun wasn't even up entirely.

Ugh, there is no place on the bus to sit. Sean is sitting with Megan. Noah is sitting with Etienne. Edith is sitting with Manny. Thank God I brought more than half a dozen books with me. I packed two less pair of clothes with me, but hey, I can repeat my pair of jeans and I will just wash my T-shirts there. I take a seat at the back just behind Noah, who is deeply engrossed in conversation with Etienne (Noah not noticing me, irks me for some reason) and take out the book I had started reading while shoving breakfast into my mouth- American Royals. I haven't gotten in far, but it has me intrigued.

I am barely aware as the bus starts moving. I am so absorbed into the world of the Royals that when I finally look up, I notice that the sun was shining brightly and my hair was a mess because of the wind. I then notice Etienne and Noah had turned around and were staring at me.
"What?" I growl at them, because they are staring at me like I am a mildly amusing joke.
"Nothing, we were just wondering when you would stop reading?" Etienne said, with a cheeky note in his voice.
"I would have been bored to death, had I not started reading." I said, meaning every single word.
"Okay well, stop reading, we will entertain you now." Etienne said and Noah nodded vigorously.
"Seriously? While sitting like this the entire journey that is going to last another 12 hours?" I said, sceptical.
"Good point. Oy, Noah, go and sit with Lisa. I will be able to sit more comfortably and we will all have fun." Etienne said, cheerfully. Something unspoken passed between the guys and Noah stood up.
I felt my spirits rise as Noah came and sat next to me- his large frame taking up nearly three quarters of the seat.
"Hey Lizard." He said, in his smooth yet somehow gravelly voice. His hair was messy as always, but his chocolate brown eyes were twinkling. His jaw stood out spectacularly today and I resisted an urge to run my index finger along it. Somehow, I managed to squeak out,
"Hey."
"So, were you reading one of those trashy romance novels?" Etienne asked, totally oblivious to the effect Noah was having on me.
"Um, no. I was reading a highly engrossing novel which provided much better company than both of you." I said, lying through my teeth.
"Sure." Noah said and scoffed.
"You sure think highly of yourselves, Noah Matthews." I said.
"That's because I should." He said and I rolled my eyes.
"Gosh, Noah, you are totally right, people should fall at your feet." Before Noah could retort, Etienne butted in,
"Um, if you two are done flirting, can I contribute in the conversation too?"
I blushed and looked at my lap. Stealing a glance at Noah, he too had pink splotches on his cheeks. Braving a sentence, I said,
"What are you talking about? Me and Noah? Nuh uh."
"Tell all the lies you want to tell yourself, Lisa, I know a match when I see one." Saying this, he turned back to face the road, and I glanced at Noah, who was still a little flustered.
"So, have you heard from Lauren?" I asked him.
"Yeah..." He said.
"And?"
"And I don't know. She says she realises her mistake, but I don't want to let my guard down."
"Noah, there is a difference between letting someone in your life and letting your guard down. Give her a chance." I said.
Noah looked really gloomy, so I decided to steer the conversation out of these waters.
"So, a gig, huh?" After that the conversation flowed back and forth easily. Apparently, Noah had sneaked in his ukulele, and he promised to play a song to me everyday. I sighed, inwardly. If only we were dating, it would have been super romantic.

We had had a half hour lunch stop, after which most of the people had fallen asleep. Me and Noah were probably the only people awake.

"Are you feeling sleepy? I won't mind if you sleep." I asked him.
"Why? Do you not enjoy my company?" He said, pouting a little. Aww, he looked so cute.
"Yes, Noah. I hate your company. Can you please sleep?" Looking at his crestfallen face, I grinned and said, "No, Noah! I was just kidding. I just asked if I was the one keeping you awake- it wouldn't be rude if you slept."
"Oh. But, no I am used to sleeping for less hours." He said.
"Oh, yeah? Me too." I said.
We sat in a tense silence for a moment and then I adjusted my posture..... and my hand brushed Noah's. He looked down at me and raised his eyebrows. He looked so handsome, honestly, that I lost my speech for a moment. I cleared my throat and said, "Nothing."
Noah's eyes didn't leave my face and mine didn't leave his. I just couldn't hold myself back anymore and I reached up to his lips. His reached down to me and our lips locked. Just for a moment, after which he pulled back.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Noah asked me. I barely nodded before I grabbed his olive green T-shirt and pulled him towards me. We kissed deeply, soft at first and soon, the urgency deepened. He tasted like chocolate and this made me love him even more. I ran my hands through his hair and his hands were on the small of my back. Soon, I was on his lap with my back resting on the back of the seat Etienne was seated on. It was utter bliss. When I pulled back, both me and Noah were out of breath.
"That was- uh wow." Noah said in a ragged voice. His lips were puffy and hair messy. I nodded and climbed off his lap. I, suddenly felt very tired.
"You mind if I sleep?" I asked.
"No." He said.
I closed my eyes and just as I was about to sleep, Noah pulled my head on his chest and his hands laced mine.
