"W-what?" Jungkook asks. All anger and rage leave him as it gets replaced with shock. Jimin loved him? If that was the case, shouldn't Jimin's behavior have been the other way around? This answer was not what he was expecting.
"You heard me," Jimin scoffs, irately wiping his tears away, although it's futile as his tears are steadily streaming down his face. "I love you, are you happy now?" he angrily sniffles.
"How-what-why?"Jungkook fumbles, too in shock to process the information that he's receiving. Here he had thought Jimin hated him, but that wasn't it. Come to figure that it was quite the contrary. It was mind-boggling.
They both sit in stiff silence—neither one of the boys knowing what to do. Leave? Talk? Do nothing? They genuinely did not know.
Well, that is until Jungkook finds words spilling out of his mouth: "I-if this is why you're mean to me, why? It doesn't make sense?"
"It's ridiculous, I know," Jimin sighs. He might as well be honest, right? It can't get any worse; the cat's already out of the bag. "Now, that I'm about to say it out loud, I hear how immature this is, but-"
"What about Tae-hyung and Hobi-hyung?" Jungkook interrupts, his brain going one-hundred miles an hour. He didn't mean to interrupt Jimin, but he couldn't focus, and his thoughts were rapidly bouncing around in his head.
"Don't get it wrong. I like Hoseok and Taehyung both. I wouldn't be dating them otherwise," Jimin states, huffing as Jungkook unintentionally cut him off.
"How can you date two people while you're in love with someone else?" Jungkook bluntly asks, still not recovered from his state of shock.
"You don't waste time, do you?" Jimin dully sighs. "I may not be in love with them, but I like them romantically, okay? Don't misinterpret it," he explains rather sassily with his arms crossed over his chest.
"That still doesn't explain why you were mean to me," he says, eyes zoned out due to his endless buzz of thoughts going through his head like swarms of angry bugs.
"I was going to explain before you interrupted me," Jimin states with a hard edge in his voice before proceeding. "Once I realized I like you, I searched for any signs of you possibly liking me as well, but results were inconclusive," he starts with a huff. "All that I found was you looking at Yoongi. Yoongi this, Yoongi that. Hell, it pissed me off so much, but, like a fool, I still had some hope that you possibly liked me as well."
"H-hyung..." Jungkook fades off, feeling like he needed to say something but not sure of what exactly.
"You don't have to say anything. You wanted answers, so I'm informing you of what you want to know," Jimin explains, his eyes never meeting the younger boy's; he's not sure if he ever can again, at least not after this. "Moving forth, I reasoned with myself that you only admired Yoongi as a hyung, but deep down, I knew that wasn't it, that it was more. The way you looked at him, the way he had all you're attention, that's deeper than simple admiration, that's love. I knew this, yet I kept being in denial; I couldn't accept that you fell in love with Yoongi-hyung right in front of my eyes..." Jimin trails off, tears spilling out of his eyes as he remembers how much pain he felt when he realized Jungkook would always love Yoongi and never him.
"I d-didn't know you f-felt that way," Jungkook mumbles out dumbly. He honestly didn't know what to say right now; he was at a complete loss of words, which doesn't happen often. He was at a loss of what to do with this information. It seemed only to keep growing into a furious mountain. His brain was still in total havoc. He was simultaneously trying to process this information and figure out how to handle this situation appropriately. It wasn't do anything good for him. But, he knew no other way to handle a situation like this.
