dark skin steps out into the aged garden that smells of fresh dew and old metal. there are birds that suddenly rustle in the leaves of the trees that loom overhead, a dark shadow cast over their figure.

stone benches overgrown with a combination of moss and ivy harbor crumbling minds and empty eyes, yet they find themself undeterred.

a slim hand lands on the reddish bark, sticky sap clinging to their fingertips as they move past. through the silhouettes, cool wind kisses their cheeks and wisps of sun rays illuminate their eyes.

finally, moving past the web of snapping branches and wet earth, the destination appears.

a warm stone peak that overlooks the bustling kingdom below it, filled with people of moderate class. the sun glows orange and awakens the clouds, coloring the flowers in the cracks a vibrant overcast. and they cannot help but feel amiable at the view.

it seems as though their feet dangle over the edge, scruffed from harsh rock, and yet they look back and extend a hand out.

it is evident that the two minds are delighted to see each other again, and they conjoin fingers as they sit on the peak and watch the sunrise.

the newly-arrived smiles in barely contained delirium before taking a small book from their breast-pocket and handing it to the individual. their face grows slightly confused at the present.

"what's this?"

the former grins a little wider, turning towards them. the wind has calmed into a subtle breeze, and it blows strands of hair from their temples.
