Drunk enough to say it, sober enough to mean it

A soft yawn escaping Miyeon's lips while she reads a certain paragraph in her book, now she needed to read it for the second time to fully understand the context but her mind can't seem to focus when she felt heaviness in her eyes- it's a sign that she needed to go to bed now.

She fished her phone out of her pocket to check the time and much to her surprise, it's already midnight. Miyeon sighs upon realizing how many hours did she spend just to review for that damn examination.

As much as she wanted to read more, since she was that eager to pass, she didn't wanna compromise her health for the sake of grades so she closes the book and already tidied up her study table.

She removes her reading glasses and stood up to turn off the lights.

As soon as there are no more lights illuminating the room-except for the moonlight escaping the spaces between the curtains- her phone lits up and then she hears a beyoncé song, an indication that someone's calling.

Miyeon never turns her phone on silent mode these days for some reason.

Her feet immediately walks back to her study table where she left her phone, and there she found a very familiar name on the caller ID. She sighed upon seeing the name but still, she picks up the phone without hesitation.

"Yeh Shuhua." She said sternly.

...

Shuhua sits at the bar stool resting both arms on the marble countertop as she stares at her almost empty glass of alcohol, she already lost count of how many shots she drank but that wasn't her priority anymore.

The bartender looks at her gesturing if she wanted another glass in which she nodded, not minding the dreadful headache she is about to experience as soon as she wakes up tomorrow. But she couldn't care less.

The only thing she is able to count right now is the consecutive nights that she spends at this place now. That's also the same count of how many times did she call her friend Miyeon just to take her home and take care of her.

Miyeon.

Shuhua is quite known in the University and actually have other friends closer to her. Although her senior belongs in one of her circle of friends along with Minnie, Soojin, Soyeon and Yuqi, everyone knows Shuhua is closest to Soojin. So why Miyeon?

Shuhua knew why, but she just didn't wanna think about it at the moment especially when she knows Miyeon is already on her way there.

Shuhua has been in love with her senior for as long as she can remember. She tried to push it at first but Miyeon is just so... endearing, so sweet and everything about her is so admirable that it makes Shuhua fall head over heels for her. But Shuhua never show even a glimpse of what she truly feels because of the fear that it might shake their friendship. She can't afford to lose Miyeon over her petty feelings for the girl.

However, these past few days has been a mental torture to her. The thoughts of Miyeon were all over the place, the more she supressess her feelings, the more it fights back until she couldn't handle it anymore.

Until she finally came up with the idea of confessing- in which she soon agreed to- but the courage she have with her sober state is not enough that she might even pass out on the spot without getting to tell Miyeon how she feels.

She thought maybe she will be needing a little bit more of courage in a form of alcohol.

It's her third night in this club now. Third night of calling Miyeon to bring her home and wake up underneath the warm blanket sniffing the senior's distinct yet addictive scent.
