Cynthia was mute.

Ever since the day she was born, Cynthia had always been a mute child. It was because of her disability that made it hard for her to gather friends and or attention. Before she was capable of learning sign language in 5th grade, she had no friends during her childhood. Except one...

Nicholas is one of 3 friends she has. He had known her since kindergarten, and had been with her throughout most her life. Nicholas liked her more quiet personality. Cynthias two other friends were two girls in her school named Sara and Millie. Millie and Cynthia became friends because of how Millie related to Cynthias mute nature as being half dead, in which Millie grew fond of Cynthia. Despite Cynthia hating the concept of someone dying, she really enjoyed Millies company, whenever they could see each other. Cynthia and Sara grew to be friends because of how little friends Sara had, and therefore Cynthia could also become Sara's friends by the means of just seeing her once in a while. It wasn't until last year, when both Sara and Millie ceased their connections with Cynthia. Millie had disappeared last Christmas, and Sara stopped being friends after, what Cynthia believed, she had gotten plastic surgery in order to look more "beautiful". Cynthia is in 9th grade now, a year after what happened to Sara and Millie. Her only friend now, was Nicholas...

Nicholas was also a bit odd. Unlike Cynthia, he loved expressing his experiences and meeting new people. He loved to talk about all sorts of things. However, his parents did not support this. Nicholas' mom was a full time pilot and his dad was a truck driver. His noise was a mere distraction to them. They weren't good listeners at all. But Cynthia was. Cynthia could listen to Nicholas all day long and stay invested. That's how they became friends.

Nicholas had light brown short hair, and light-ish skin. He normally wore a blue sweat jacket over his normal pink-ish red t-shirt with grey shorts and blue knee high socks. On the contrary, Cynthia had light skin and short, brown, fluffy, curly hair that covered her brown eyes with the bangs she had. She normally wore a blue long sleeved sports shirts with two grey lines on the sleeves; along with the usual black leggings and black boots.

Now in 9th grade, Cynthia was 15 years of age and so was Nicholas. It was the beginning of spring break. Cynthia's family have decided to take Cynthia and her "unwanted" friend to a resort for the weekend. As Cynthias parents drove into the parking lot, Nicholas stared in awe at the resort they would be staying at while Cynthia was on her phone typing something. A song.

Cynthia loved music. To her, it was a beautiful way of noise that was pleasant to listen to. Unlike everyday noise, that reminded her of her disability, music felt like anyone could make it, even if it was just a mere mute girl.
