MY DEAREST READER, it appears the surprises are never-ending during this 1813 season, for the newly made Countess of Salisbury, Elizabeth Aldridge has decided to grace us with her presence this year, hopefully to find a husband instead of embroiling herself in scandal yet again. Though with her best friend Renee Everton newly crowned Lady of her own household, it appears as though Lady Aldridge's sparkle has diminished. For what could compel the Countess to appear at a season without her other half?
The answer appears to be the Duke of Hastings himself. After all, their courtship seemed rather unexpected for a season such as this, especially when neither of them had shown any interest in marriage before this moment. Whatever the case may be, Lady Aldridge is not here to play her games anymore, something that this year's incomparable, Daphne Bridgerton, may need to look out for.
