***Taylors’s POV***
‘Must keep running. I have to get away from him’ I repeated to myself as I charged through the forest in my wolf form. Yeah that’s right, I’m a werewolf. It’s pretty awesome most of the time but sometimes it really sucks. I mean come on, wouldn’t you just hate it if you were to end up being mates with the guy you hate more than anything and then you reject him but he is the alpha so you have to run through a forest with half a wolf pack chasing you to bring you back to him so he can mate you by force? Yeah that’s what I thought, you would hate it. Well unlucky for me that’s the predicament I’m in right now, not to mention it’s like the middle of the night. Well actually it’s just gone 10pm but I’m tired okay?! You would be to if you had a bunch of wolves chasing you through a forest. All I have to do is get out of Crescent Moon territory, the wolves won’t leave their territory unless it was a matter of war, which this most certainly is not. You can’t wage war on a single wolf. At least I hope you can’t! If you can I’m as good as dead! I have been running for at least an hour now. I am worried I chose the wrong direction to run… Not only is this the packs running grounds, in other words it stretches on for miles of their territory, as soon as I leave the packs territory I will run straight into human territory and I really wish I paid more attention in geography, that way I would have a bit of an idea where to go once I get outta this place. I stopped my thought track and listened carefully. I head the howls of my mate in the distance. My inner wolf didn’t beg to go back to him like most peoples would, she agreed with me that he was a bastard and before we found him she would always tell me that if our mate wasn’t a nice guy then we were rejecting him and leaving the pack. I always told her that that wasn’t going to happen and that we would have a nice mate who would love us. Apparently not. So I ran. I ran from my home, my school, my mum, my dad. I ran from my older brother, my mate, and I ran from my pack.
I suddenly smelt something strange and stopped, sniffing the air. Humans. I must be near the edge of the territory. I’m not sure if I am scared or relieved. A bit of both I guess. But wait… I can’t just smell the scent of human territory, I can smell lots of humans. I think I can smell something else as well but the other scents are masking it way too much, I don’t know what it is… Oh well, if it’s not that distinguishable it can’t be that important or life threatening. Before I knew it I was stood at the edge of my Crescent Moon’s packs territory, one more step and I would be free. I took a deep breath and placed my left foot forward…
We’ve all heard the childhood stories of knights who rode on noble steeds and fell in love with beautiful maidens and lived in royal stone castles, but right now I was seeing a real castle just like the ones in fairy tales. I stayed in the cover of the trees and watched a load of girls and boys roughly my age run around playing football. The girl’s team wore all black and the boy’s team white. My eyes landed on the captain of the girl’s team who just kicked an amazing shot with so much power behind it I instantly thought ‘Werewolf’. But she must be of beta or alpha blood right? Otherwise she wouldn’t be so powerful. She had long black hair with electric blue highlights and looked right at home in this competitive game. Looking at the side lines I saw a lot more teenagers cheering their teams onto victory, I could just make out the score board behind them. Girls 21 – Boys 17 with only 5 seconds left on the clock. Well it’s pretty obvious the girls are going to win. The final goal was scored by a girl with short, dark brown hair and red highlights just as the game ended. No not everyone at this place had their hair dyed just about 5 of them. The black haired girl sprinted over to the brown haired girl and engulfed her in a hug as the girls cheered loudly along with a couple of boys who I assume must have been the girls boyfriends judging by the hugging and kisses on their cheeks when they walked over. The 5 girls headed off to the castle after bidding goodbye to their boyfriends who headed towards a bridge which crossed over a river.
I looked up at the sky and saw the sun was quickly setting. All the girls were back inside their castle and the boys had disappeared across the river. This could be the perfect place for me to hide… The amount of humans would easily hide my scent from the werewolves and they would probably not think I would hide this close to the territory… Yes. I just need to find the principle of this school and see if I can join and then- “You can come out now.” A voice broke me out of my thoughts. I looked up and saw a man looking down at me I slowly stood up and gained the ability to speak.
“Who are you?”
“My name is Principle Nevola. I am in charge of both Westford Academy for Girls and Westford Academy for boys.” I nodded to show I understood
“Sorry for trespassing on your property sir.” I said bowing my head down in submission.
“Look up young werewolf” My head shot up in disbelief. How does he know I am a werewolf? He is a human! They aren’t even meant to know we exist! Unless he is a hunter... But I would have smelt that by now
“H-how did you k-know?” I managed to stutter out. He laughed
“Do not panic child. I am of no threat to you. I know of the supernatural world and the pack of whose terriotory you just came from.” I nodded in understanding. I guess now would be the best time to ask him about joining
"Umm excuse me sir... Would you allow me to maybe join this school? I understand if you say no, I may bring trouble to you..."
After I had finally finished explaining what had happened to me, the principle nodded. "Of course you can stay here..." He trailed off
"Oh! Sorry, my name is Taylor. Taylor Anderson"
"Of course you can stay here Taylor. But because of your safty I ask you agree to meet a few of my students and explain to them what has happened." What is he talking about? I guess i could do that if it meant I could stay at this school...
"Sure" I nodded "When do I meet them?"
"Right now" He said walking away, gestering for me to follow him. I stepped out of the forest and onto the field. The principle pulled out a phone and spoke a few words to the other person before hanging up and sliding it back into his pocket. "They will be here shortly"
