*Louis' POV*
When I got home from spilling my guts to Harry, my mum was sitting in the living room.
“Hi, Mum.” I went to join her on the couch. She didn't say anything to me, not even a glance in my direction. “How are you?”
“What do you want, Louis?” She looked at me with a cold stare.
“Is it such a crime to see how my mother is doing? I miss talking to you, you know.” I said to her while getting up.
“Maybe you should have thought about that before Louis.” She turned her attention back to the television.
I sighed and made my way up to my bedroom. Once there, I flopped on my bed and contemplated my next move. I can't stay here and feel like an outsider. Unloved. I could probably room with Harry if I asked, but I don't want to put him in that position. I could apply for jobs and find my own flat, but that would take forever. I need out. Now. Maybe I should just talk to Harry.
Before I could silently talk myself out of it, I was dialling his number and pressing the phone to my ear.
“Hey, Lou, everything okay?” He sounded worried.
“I guess you could say that. Mum doesn't talk to me, unless she's being harsh and cold. I'm actually thinking of packing up and leaving, never looking back.” I shrugged, even though he couldn't see me.
“What do you mean, leave?” His breathing hitched and his voice was an octave higher.
“Move out of my mothers house. For god sakes, Harry, I'm not running away.” I laughed as he released the breath he was holding.
“Fuck, Lou, scare the shit out of me why don't ya?!” He took a deep breath before continuing, “What is your plan?”
“Honestly, I'm just going to apply for all the jobs I can online, Toys 'R' Us, McDonald's whatever. Save up and get my own flat. I'd like to leave earlier but I have like no savings and no friends to crash with. So hopefully this works.” I explained while powering up my old laptop.
“Why don't you just stay with me while you start working and saving up?” He offered.
“Because I wouldn't want to put you out, not be able to pitch in with food and stuff. I don't want a free ride. Plus, your parents probably wouldn't like it. 'Hey mum, this gay guy I'm casually seeing is gonna move in cause his family life sucks. He can't pitch in but I want him here.' Don't think they'd like that much, Harry.”
“Louis, my mum hasn't been back to Doncaster since Christmas last year. My sister lives in London, it's literally just me here. She'd probably be thrilled that I wasn't all alone here. Also, you're not just some gay guy I'm casually seeing.” I can practically hear him grip the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“They've never even met me.”
“I don't care. I have a spare room, that is unless you want to join me in mine,” He chuckled. “Seriously, stay with me. I don't like you not having a place to feel at home in. I want you here.”
“I just applied to Toys 'R' Us.” I announced.
“Do you need a ride to school in the morning?” He questioned.
“You don't have to do that, I can walk.”
“You live five houses away, I'm sure I can pick you up, I'm going that way anyways. You're not walking forty five minutes while I drive. Nope. Not happening. I'll pick you up at 8:15, be ready.”
I sighed but agreed before we said our good nights. I'm a lucky guy. I should probably tell him the rest of my story before I consider moving in with him. I fully intend on taking him up on his offer if I get a job. At least that way I can help out with food shopping.
I turned off my junky laptop before stripping down to my boxers and getting cozy in bed. I drifted to sleep with thoughts of chocolate curls and bright, green eyes.

My alarm went off at 7:30, pulling me out of my happy place in the dream world and back into the real one. I groaned but continued to roll out of the warmth of my bed into the shower. I had a little problem to take care of, if you know what I mean. Hey, no judging, I did dream of Harry you know.
Once I was done in the shower, I grabbed a pair of tight black skinny jeans and my favourite 'Skate Tough' tank. Top it off with some white vans and I'm ready to go. I ate a quick bowl of cereal and before I knew it, Harry was honking outside. I ran towards the door saying a quick goodbye to my mother, it wasn't returned, and jumped into Harry's car.
“Good morning, love.” He greeted.
“Morning, Harry.” I breathed, still a little winded from my mad dash out of the house.
“Everything alright?” He furrowed his eyebrows.
“Yeah, just quick to get out of the house this morning, s'all.” I smiled and leaned in for a chaste kiss before heading on our way to school.
I leaned my head against the cool glass of the window, mentally preparing myself for today. I knew I would have to come face to face with my biggest regret, let's just hope its doesn't surface. Let's just hope that Harry doesn't notice my anxiety. I am not ready to come clean.
The ride was spent in comfortable silence, until we pulled up to the school and parked. Harry broke the silence.
“Hey, Lou?”
“Yeah?”
“What exactly are we? Like I know we kinda decided not to define it but it's gonna be really hard not to reach for your hand or kiss you before class. So, do you want to keep this a secret until we figure it out ourselves, or do you not want to hide it?” he looked away from me, blushing.
“Awe, Haz, is this your strange way of asking me to be your boyfriend?” I looked at him with my signature puppy pout and twinkly yes. He went bright red when he connected his eyes with mine. I tried to hold back a chuckle.
“I think it just might be.” He deadpanned.
My face dropped at the realization that Harry Styles has just asked me to be his boyfriend.
