Grayson ••

I ran my hand down my face as I waited for the person I'm supposed to have lunch with. Ameerah is in the villa or maybe shopping, I wasn't sure when I left earlier.

I told her I had some work that needed to be fixed here in the Maldives, and I'm sure she wasn't happy with that. I fixed the cuffs on my wrists, rolling them up to give my forearms room.

I stared at the menu impatiently waiting, checking my watch. "Sorry I'm late, you order anything yet?" I looked up at Cameron who sat down in front of me staring at the menu.
"If I did I would've been finished by the time you got here." She laughed shaking her head as she continued to stare at the menu.

"So what was so urgent that you needed me to come to the Maldives?"
"Something wrong is happening back home, I need to make sure all of you are okay." She gave me a look and drank the water I ordered for her earlier.

"No one knows where we are Grayson, Jason made sure of that years ago. Why am I having a feeling there's more to this?"
"I can't just make sure my sister is alright? I haven't seen you in 2 years, Cam."

She ran her tongue along her teeth and gave me a look, the waiter came with the calamari appetizers and I ate one looking away from her.
"How come Ameerah isn't here?"
"She's shopping."
"Does she know you met with me?"
"She's not my parole officer Cameron." She laughed throwing her head back, I smiled a little but held in my laughter.

"Every wife is their husbands' parole officer."
"Where's Jason then?"
"Taking care of the kids," She smirked crossing her arms leaning back. I felt my phone vibrate and I saw Ethan was trying to call me.

Cameron sat up looking down at my phone and I answered grabbing another calamari. "Yes?"
"We have an issue, the kid that helps us, he was found outside the warehouse an inch close to death." I felt a fire of rage light inside me and I tried to keep my composure, so Cameron wouldn't think anything is wrong.

"Can we talk about this later?"
"Someone is attacking our people for no reason, Grayson, I don't think there is a later." I clenched my jaw looking up at Cameron who had a worried expression on her face, waiting for me to explain what Ethan is saying.

"I'm with Cameron right now, but I think Bailey is just teething, she'll be fine keep her gums cool." Cameron's face soothed a little hearing me make up that story.
"Teething? Wait you're with Cameron? Fuck, ok when you're done call me asap this is serious Gray." I hummed in response hanging up the phone.

"Ethan needed help with Bailey?"
"Yeah he's alone with the girls for a few hours, and he didn't want to ask Chloe just to make her think he had it under control." She hesitantly nodded her head and I motioned for the waiter to get the check.

"The lunch is over already? I was planning on making you pay for a shit ton of food."
"We talked about what we needed to talk about." I set down 60 dollars, and got up, her eyes followed me and stood up blocking my way out.

"Grayson what the hell is going on?" I looked at her and just smiled shoving my hand in my pockets. "I was just wondering how you were Cam, nothing is wrong." I hugged her and walked to my car calmly and drove back to the villa. I tapped my finger on the wheel anxiously calling Jack.

"Hello friend."
"I left the country for two days to spend time with my wife and you're already fucking up?"
"I'm good Grayson thanks for asking, I hope you're having a splendid time in Maldives." I groaned not wanting to hear him banter at the moment.

"Jack." I warned waiting impatiently to get to the villa before Ameerah. "It's not my fault I went to check the office and the kid was begging for his life outside the door. He wouldn't say who did it, all he said was that they had a message for us."
