CH 14

Hyejin POV

The room was getting darker by the second, outside the window, the sky was turning purple, it meant it was evening by now.

The door lock twitches, making me snap my neck towards it, Hongjoong walks in, "San will be here in a while for his turn." He tells Yeosang, who seems to be confused.

He walks up to me and caresses my cheeks roughly, "why is it so hard for you to behave." He then shoves me back, resulting my head to hit the side hard.

I curse under my breath as my head pounds like a multiple drums banging in a parade.

San comes rushing in, "captain, they're here, we've arrived."

"Call Jongho and tell him to come and bring her up on deck." He orders and leaves the room.

Few seconds the red head comes and picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder like a sack.

As we reach the deck, he throws me down. I curse as pain surges through my body.

Other than ATEEZ, I saw 8 other men standing in front of us, I kept my head low though, for sure they might recognise me with my eyes.

"She's the one your gonna use." One of the men said in a mocking tone.

"Yes, she isn't in shape because we had to neutralise her, she's very brave and fearless, what can I say she is an assassin afterall." Hongjoong explains.

On of the men walked up to me and bent down, kneeling on one knee, "what's your name?"

I keep silent and keeping looking down at the wooden floorboard.

"Hyejin, her name is Hyejin." Seonghwa answers for me.

"What's her full name?" One of the other men asks, his voice, it was very familiar.

"Just Hyejin, but I suspect she's a Hwang which is impossible since they were all wiped out, so she must be of another descent." Hongjoong replies.

"Can I talk to her for a while in private." The same man asks again.

"That's not a good idea, even chained she's ruthless." San adds in.

"Just let me try." He pleads.

"Fine" Hongjoong huffs signalling his men to carry me and throw me into one of the rooms and the man entered after, "we'll stand guard." Wooyoung says closing the door.

I stayed where I was seated, not making any sound.

The man walked up to me and bent down to my level, placing his index finger under my chin, he lifts me face up and brushes my stray hair put of my face with his other hand, "I knew it." He mumbles loud enough for me to hear.

Suddenly he hugs me tight, I hiss as he presses into my bruises.

"Sorry, I forgot you were injured." He apologizes.

"You were dead." I tell soullessly.

"Correction, I was unconscious."

"But there was no pulse, I stayed by your side trying to wake you up, but you didn't." I lowly yell at him, so that the people outside couldn't hear me.

"I was unconscious, then Felix dragged me out and took me somewhere I would be safe to heal." He replies as quiet as I was.

"You have no idea what I had to go through, because of you. I became a monster, Hyunjin." I spit frustrated.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you when you needed me."

"Sorry isn't gonna cut it. How did you end up a pirate anyway?"

"Felix is friends with our captain, he gave us a home to stay. I had no other purpose, I thought I had lost you too, so I turned to privateering." He explains, caressing my cheek. "What about you, what have you been up to?"

"You heard Hongjoong, after loosing you, I lost my soul, I became an assassin, I took on jobs from different people and earned a good amount of coins."

"Then how did you end up here." He asks.

"Hehe, long story."

"Well make it short."

"I took a job from Hongjoong to kill the prince of Reigan, but he wanted his lackeys to come along, but the plan fell out, and I somehow ended up getting hired by the king to find the princes' assassins, so here we are."

"I can't do anything now, it's too late, but I'll tell you what I can. We made a serum, which will possess you and do as commanded, Hongjoong plans to use it to kill the prince, but the thing is, while working on it, the first batch didn't work and it doesn't possess you, I'll tell my captain about who you are later and I'll somehow convince him to swap the serum when giving it to Hongjoong, all I want you to do is, to act possessed, maybe like a robot or soulless and then get to the prince and tell him that ATEEZ is here and have him summon an army to capture them, easy enough." Hyunjin quickly explains.

I was in shock, Hongjoong was despicable, "Sungchan" I mutter under my breath. "You'd better change it, I can't kill Sungchan." I whisper the last part to myself.

"I'll try my best." He says hugging my frame.
