Jimin peered out of the window in the early hours of the morning, his index finger and thumb parting two blinds to examine the greyscale sky. From behind him, two arms snaked around his waist, a bare chest being pressed into his back, lips trailing up his neck, drawing a grin from Jimin.
"Junnie, I thought you were asleep." He smiled, tilting his head back to rest against the taller man's shoulder as his fiancée chuckled tiredly, looking out the window with Jimin.
"I didn't want to sleep through your first day. Nervous?"
"Ah, only a little. Is it grey outside today? Should I bring an umbrella?" Jimin questioned, pulling his fingers from the blinds and turning to Jun-so, ruffling his hair. "Getting a little long, babe. Do you want me to cut it for you later?" His fiancée hummed in response as Jimin slipped past to open his heavy oak wardrobe, searching for the outfit he'd planned to wear to his first day at his new job. A boring office job - something Jimin detested the idea of growing up, but found himself landed in. Unfortunate, soul sucking, but well paid.
"Do you promise my clothes go together?" Jimin asked nervously, "I'm worried I'll embarrass myself, and--"
"I promise." Jun-so insisted sweetly, sitting on the bed to stretch and watch Jimin change, the two more than comfortable in each other's presence. The brown haired man glanced over at his lover on the bed and sighed, buttoning up his shirt.
"Jun-so, I've been thinking...Maybe it's time I saw a doctor?" He asked nervously, pulling off his checkered pyjama bottoms to pull on a clean pair of boxers and his trousers. "I'm really, really worried something is wrong. I mean, what if it's permanent?" He rambled nervously as Jun-so sighed, shaking his head.
"Love, like I've said before, there is nothing wrong with you. You're just...different."
"Jun-so, you know something is, I know something is. I can feel it. We're soulmates, right? We're getting married! And yet...It's still so grey." Jimin said weakly, doing up the button of his trousers and pausing to rub his eyes, as if it would fix them.
This problem was....persistent. They say when you lose your colour perception when you hit your teens, and it comes back once you meet eyes with your soulmate. Bullshit, Jimin always thought, until a guy helped him up from where he'd fallen in the street, they met eyes, and---well, nothing.
Jimin still has not seen a lick of colour, Not the blues, reds, and pinks he ached for. But he did feel his heart flutter, and two years later, here Jimin and Jun-so were.
'I started seeing colour only minutes after we made eye contact, and I just knew you were the one,' Jun-so claimed the day he proposed, and Jimin believed him. They were, after all, soulmates, but Jimin was just.....defective. Wrong. Incorrect."How about I book you an appointment while you're at work today, hm? We'll get to the bottom of this, love, I promise. Anything to make you happy." Jun-so smiled sincerely, making Jimin's anxieties melt. Jun-so was just...magic like that, in a way. Despite all this, Jun-so still loved him. What a blessing, Jimin thought happily as he pulled on his belt, buckling it and picking up his tie, only to falter and frown. "Hm.."
Jun-so chuckled, getting up to walk up to Jimin, gently taking the tie and flipping up the collar to tie it around Jimin's neck.
"What colour are my eyes?" Jimin asked, like he did almost every day.
"Why, ocean blue, my love." Jun-so smiled. It was their own personal declaration of love.
Jimin grinned, looking his sleepy lover up and down, eyes lingering on the way his bottoms hung loose around his hips, and--"Come on, before you get too distracted and end up late to work. I'll make breakfast." The handsome man chuckled, disappearing out the door while Jimin flipped his collar back down, adjusting his tie and following, smitten.
