Where am I? I murmur. I look around my tomb, surprised to see the air shimmering. I can hear Trixon talking to me, but I can't understand what he's saying. He keeps saying things like "don't leave me" and "I'm here for you" and "I don't want to lose you again". I can hear snippets of what he's saying, but never the full thing. I remember waking up and Trixon having his arms around me, but the details are a blur. I haven't "woken" up for quite some time and now I'm starting to think that I'm lost in my own body, unable to surface again. I've heard of things like this happening to mages, but never to vampires like me. I pound on the walls of my own mind, trying to find a way out when I know there is none.

Michael walks through the basement door, a strange object in hand. He murmurs something and the lights come back on. I can't think straight and I don't know if I'm sleeping or if I'm awake. For all I know, I could be somewhere in between.

"Hello, love. Miss me?" Michael's laughter scrapes across my ears, and I cry out for him to stop.

"I am not your 'love', Michael," I whisper with as much venom that I can muster. His smile fades into a  scowl and he pulls the whip out. I brace myself for the unbearable pain, but I can't help but start screaming. the whip comes down across my face and down my chest, into my abdomen. My shirt is long gone, but agony is all I feel right now. I have long since lost my will to survive. No, not my will. My hope of surviving.

My feet feel like cinderblocks had been strapped to them, and I take deep, raspy breaths. Not again, I whisper as I feel myself being pulled into another memory.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was running from Trian, playing tag, I think. I was laughing, having a great time, but her voice was getting further than I thought. I stopped to catch my breath, and my grin slowly disappears off my face. The forest around me was dark, and the trees look at e with evil grins. I feel my heart nearly bolt its way out of my chest, and I turn to run away, but I am surrounded. I drop to my knees, unsure of what to do. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I feel arms wrap around my waist and pick me up, taking me away from the forest. I look over their shoulder and back at the trees. They no longer looked terrible, it was all in my head.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I open my eyes and I realize that my face is streaked with tears. I had completely forgotten about that memory, but apparently some part of me wanted to see it again. I rub my palm against my eyes to get the tears out of them. I raise my chin to the ceiling and-

What? Ceiling? I'm awake?

"Sita! Aris! Sita's awake again!" I hear a man's voice boom through the shroud around my mind. I slowly move my head to the side, cautious of my surroundings.

"Where am I?" I whisper. My voice is raspier than I expected it to be, almost as if I had been asleep for a long time. I zone in on the man who had spoken, forcing myself to remember why he looks so familiar. My throat burns with the desire to feed and I smell a human nearby. My instincts screech at me to follow the sweet scent, but I ignore it.

"Sita, you don't remember who we are, do you?" The man spoke again, his voice almost like a angels. Thinking of angels makes two spots on my back ache, giving me a phantom feeling of wings. That's when it all comes back to me. The death of my parents. No, my father is still alive. the betrayal of Trixon. Imprinting with Michael. Breaking the Imprint and it transferring to Trixon. Jason trying to kill me over and over. Me killing Trian...
