It was a relatively late night in New York. Despite the city's activity tonight, the Avengers Tower was surprisingly quiet. The whole team had a battle today that had tired them all out. Not even Clint was up for his usual antics, so he just headed to his floor to rest. Only one was still active.

Tony Stark was wide awake on another engineering binge. Despite Bruce and Steve begging him to get some rest, he did not listen and instead went down to his lab to study the artifacts they had recovered from the fight. He did not trust magic, so he wanted to understand what they did before he could leave them alone in his lab.

"Sir, might I suggest that you head to bed now? It has been over 72 hours since you last fell asleep." JARVIS stated as he watched his creator work away.

Tony sighed as he finished looking at one. He sometimes hated how his AI would constantly check up on his well-being. But he could never replace him. JARVIS is one of the most important things in his life.

He pushed his chair over to one of the other artifacts and began looking it over.

"I will once I am done, buddy. If any of these destroyed the place, I wouldn’t forgive myself. So, I must make sure they won’t do that.” Tony said as he poked at it.

As he continued poking one artifact, another that he hadn’t got to had started to glow a dark red. Tony hadn’t noticed it.

"Sir, are you aware that one of the artifacts is glowing red?” JARVIS questioned, and Tony looked up.

"No, I wasn’t." He said, turning over to the glowing artifact.

He pushed his chair over to it and watched as it pulsed red.

“Fascinating,” Tony mumbled as he looked it over. “Was there any reason you can detect why it has started doing this?” He asked.

“None of which I can detect, sir. However, I would recommend that you keep your distance and not disturb it.” JARVIS stated.

“I can’t just leave it doing this, though. Who knows what it could do.” Tony said as he moved his tool over to poke at it.

Once the tool touched the artifact, the room was surrounded by a red glow, and everything in the lab went silent.

Morning in the tower was unusually tranquil for Steve. Despite turning his alarm on for 9 am instead of the typical 5 am, he was still expecting to have awoken to an explosion in the lab at 3 am. When he heard his alarm go off, he was surprised to have awoken to it instead. He sat up, rubbed his eyes, and climbed out of bed to prepare for the day. As magic users had thrown around him, he still felt sore from yesterday's battle. So, he decided to have a shower before he got dressed.

"Morning Captain Rogers. May I suggest that you head to the lab where the others are? Mr. Stark had an incident in the lab." JARVIS stated that as soon as he was out of the shower.

Steve sighed as he dried off and got dressed. He shouldn’t have been surprised that Tony had done something to warrant JARVIS needing their assistance. He always seemed to get into a predicament. At least it made every day in the tower interesting.

"What did he do this time? Is he stuck under one of his cars again?" Steve asked as he headed out of the room.

"Mr. Stark was incapacitated last night by one of the artifacts you recovered from the battle yesterday,” JARVIS stated.
