As soon as the scientist gave that smirk at Tony, the child attempted to get out of their grip.

"No! Let me go! I don't want this!" Tony shouts and the scientist doesn't even wait to inject Tony with the green liquid.

The child whined in pain as he was practically stabbed with the needle in his arm. He squirmed as the liquid was injected into his arm.

"There we go. That wasn't so bad now was it?" The scientist says with a laugh as he continues to keep hold of Tony so he couldn't run off.

Tony whimpered a little as he continued to try and not cry in front of the scientist. The scientist then pinned Tony down to the table so he could strap him down on it ready for more experiments. Tony was struggling the entire time.

"You're going to stay there for a bit. If I see that you have broken or slipped out of any of the restraints, there will be a punishment worse than what's coming to you." The scientist says as Tony freezes.

He didn't want to be punished and the scientist knew that.

"Good." The scientist says as he walks over to the exit of the lab.

He unlocked the door just in time to see a disheveled agent about to bash on the door.

"Where is that little brat?!" He snapped as he marched into the lab.

"Don't worry. I have him over there." The scientist says as he points over to the table.

The agent looked over at the child strapped down to the table and relaxed a little.

"Good. I swear if he managed to mess with something while here, I was going to make sure he'd never be able to again." The agent says as he crosses his arms.

"Well, he's stuck at that age now. I've injected him with that serum now so once I finish the experiments, he'll be far easier to manipulate than the winter soldier ever was." The scientist says.

"Can't wait. The avengers wouldn't know what hit them." The agent says with a grin on his face.

"Once you're done, I want him taken to the chair. I want him to see what will happen if he doesn't follow instructions and we'll introduce him to his handler." The agent says as he leaves the lab to go and take care of Tony.

The scientist sighs a little and went over to a case that was in the lab, putting on some gloves and opening it up. He pulled out the infamous blue cube that they had managed to get ahold of again. He began walking over to Tony and placed the cube down on the table next to him. Tony whimpered as he looked over at the cube.

"W-what's that?" Tony asked as he continued to attempt not to cry.

"You will find out soon enough." The scientist says as he sets up a machine next to Tony.

Tony whimpered some more as he looked at the machine and the scientist just smirked as he picked up the tesseract again, inserting it into the machine.

"Now you're going to stay right there as I head into a different room." The scientist says and ruffles Tony's hair a little with a smirk, watching the boy quiver.

The scientist then left the lab, holding a remote as he left.

(Time Skip...)

The scientist sighed happily as he listened to the screams of the child from a different room. He waited just a bit longer before he pressed the button on the remote and he heard the machine turn off.

"That should be enough exposure for now. If that didn't work, looks like he would have to have more time." The scientist says to himself as he walks back into the lab.

He sees a slight blue glow coming from the crying child and grinned as the glow dissipated. He walked over to Tony and saw that the blue eyes that he had now instead of the brown.

"I wanna go home!!" Tony cried out.

"Shut it! I've just given you a gift! You should be thankful!" The scientist snaps at Tony, watching the child silence himself but the tears continue to fall.

He grumbled a little, especially when the alarm started blaring.

"Right. Time to unstrap you and take you to one of the jets to a safer base so them avengers can't take you back." The scientist says with a growl as he reaches to take off the straps.

[Meanwhile...]

The meeting that the avengers had didn't take too long because of the fact there was a child that was probably traumatised now. And they wanted to get him back as soon as possible. Once they landed and exited the quinjet, the fighting began as the Hydra agents had already made it outside.

"Steve! Go for him! We've got this!" Natasha shouts as she fires her guns at the agents.

Steve nodded and rushed into the base, taking down any agent that he came across. He passed a couple rooms until he heard commotion in one and looked inside without making a sound.

"You little brat! That agent was right about you!" The scientist snaps.

Steve's eyes widened a little. He knew then that this was the room that Tony was in and strapped to that table. He glared a little as he entered.

"Hey! Step away from the kid!" Steve shouts, causing the scientist to jump and turn around.

"Hello Captain America. What a pleasant surprise." The scientist says with a grin.

"I said step away from the kid!" Steve snaps as he takes a step forward.

"I'm not handing him over to you after all the work I've put in! He's Hydra's property now!" The scientist shouts just as Steve throws the shield to knock him out.

Steve rushed over to Tony and unstraps him from the table, watching as Tony instantly clings to him and cries. Steve rubbed Tony's back gently and rushed out of the base back to the quinjet.

"I've got him! Retreat!" Steve says to the rest of the team and they all get into the quinjet and take off and head back to the tower.

Steve sighed in relief and now took the time to give Tony a proper check over and the comfort he needed as well.
