My mother found out that I had met Sir William at the ball, which caused her to plan a big trip to Sir William's Manor. " Today is the day you get to have a proper and long meeting with Sir William, dear." Said my mother as she brushed the knots out my hair. " Ow, mother don't rip my hair out." I cried out in pain. " Iris, you need to look your very best." " Mother, Sir William and I already met at the ball, I don't need to look my very best."

"oh shush now, Iris." My mother put my hair up in a tight braided bun making sure no strand of hair was out of placed. " Oh, don't you look beautiful indeed!" She said as she went to grab a dress out of her closet. "Wear this, dear" my mother told me while grabbing my arm and handing me the dress. When Bella was done putting on my corset; I put on the dress. When I had it fully on I looked myself in the mirror and gazed at the dress.

I was wearing a simple pink and white dress with blue small flower designs that are on the pink fabric. It was long wide dress and the sleeves went to my elbows. My mother went back to her closet and took out some light pink gloves and a big pink round hat that had fake white roses on the top side of it.

"Put this on too Iris, I want you looking very proper for Sir William when we get to his Manor. This time you will not leave the carriage or else I'll tie you up and drag you to his manor. Do you understand?" My mother said pointing a finger at me. " Yes, mother I understand completely." I said walking out of her bedroom to hop into the carriage.

After a long and uncomfortable carriage ride, we had finally arrived at Sir William's Manor. " It's quiet nice." I said looking out the window to see Sir William's Manor. " See dear, I knew you would like it, just wait till you get inside!" My mother said rushing out of the carriage. I walked after her walking up to the manor door, and lightly knocking on it.

The door was opened after a minute and there stood Sir William himself. " Hello!" He said looking at me with a big smile. " Come on in, please. Tea time just started, so you came at a good time." He said happily walking away from the door. We started to follow Sir William; I looked around the place. The walls were dark blue, paintings of Sir William's family and...lots of cats. Everything was either silver or copper, and all around the room were small statues of animals.

" You have a...a lovely home." I said looking at a big painting of a white fluffy cat with big blue eyes sitting down. " Thank you, my mother picked out the paintings and I did the rest of the house." Sir William said proudly. " Here we are, the tea room." We walked into the tea room and I was meet with a blending white room that was surrounded with pink roses, and had a big view of the garden.

I sat down at the table that was in the middle of the big white room. " Your tea room is very...bright." I said looking around amazed how the room could look so clean. "Do you like it? I thought a all white room would bring out the garden view." I nodded my head slowly to show him that I understand what he meant.

My mother started talking Sir William's ear off as we were trying to enjoying our tea. He talked back to my mother with small comments like

'oh really?'
or
'yes, I do agree Mrs. Templeton.'
or
'yes, you are differently right.'

I looked at them both and realized that my mother must do this every time she comes here and I began to laugh a little. My mother looked at me and her eyes went wide. " Oh Iris, I almost forgot you were here." " How so, Mother?" I asked taking a sip of my tea.

" Well you are never here when we come to visit?, also you are so quite. It seemed like you weren't here. How rude of me to take all of Sir William's attention." My mother said putting a hand on your chest. "It's quite alright, Mrs.Templeton." said Sir William with a small smile. " Oh I suppose...Well, me and Ethel are going to the garden." My mother said grabbing Ethel's arm. " Wait, mother I am not done-." My mother drag Ethel to the door and yelled "You too have fun!" And walked out.

'Oh mother, why must you do this to me' I thought as I put my hands on my lap giving Sir William a smile. Sir William smiled back taking a big sip of his tea. There was nothing, but us drinking our tea and eating our biscuits. It was so uncomfortable that for a moment I thought about killing poor Sir William to stop feeling so uncomfortable. Before I could go with my murderous plan, Sir William spoke up. " You look very lovely." He told me smiling " Do you really think so? It's nothing I would wear really." I said back to him giving a small laugh. " Yes, It looks quite nice. It's your mother's dress right?"

" Yes it is, how did you know?" I asked looking at his green eyes. " Your mother wear it the first time she was here." " Of course she did. She likes it when I wear her dresses because I remind her of herself when she was younger. 'We look so alike' she tells me"

I said while looking down at my tea. He give me a small chuckle. "You know Iris, as we are meant to wed. I was wondering if you would like to spend some time together at least maybe once week? I ask this because I want you to get to know me as a person and hopefully...love me as well." He asked taking my hand.

I didn't know what to say...seeing him every week till our marriage it seems like a little too much, but I know if I say 'no' my mother is going to make me see him every week whether I like it or not." I-...I would like that a lot." I said with a small smile. " Wonderful! How's Saturday?" He asked with a happy face. " No!" " No?" He asked with a confused look. " I mean 'no' by no, I can't meet Saturday." I said nervously sipping my tea. "And why is that?" " Well I-...I have plans with a friend of mine and I haven't seen them for years, so I promised them we could see each other that day." I lied trying to sound convincing. " Oh..I see. I understand, you must miss them a lot." He said with a big smile.

I nodded ' yes' and took a big bite of my biscuit. " Well, I understand." " Thank you so much, Sir William." I said back taking his hand. He slightly blushed. " Please, call me William." " Thank you...William." We both smiled at each other. " How's next Monday?" He asked. " Yeah that would be...lovely." He laughed and continue to finish his tea.

We said our goodbyes to Sir William and hopped into the carriage. " So...how did it go?" My mother said with the biggest smile I have ever seen her make. " It went well mother. I have agreed to meet with Sir William on Mondays till our wedding." I said looking out the window viewing the blue sky. " Oh that's just absolutely wonderful indeed!" My mother yelled happily shaking Ethel.

"Yes...it's perfectly splendid."
