I started to get ready for my meet up with Ravine. I put on a simple white dress that had small sunflowers all around it. I made sure to leave while my father was in his office, so I could sneak out with Sebastian. When I heard him get into his office I quickly walked passed it and ran down the stairs heading to the front door.
When I got further away from my manor me and Sebastian stopped running, and took a bit of a breather. After, we began to make our way to were we first met. The cliff. 35 minute walk later we had finally arrived. I looked at my pocket watch to see what time it was. It was 3:56 pm. " Oh, I am bit early. I guess we have to wait." I said to my dog
We waited...and waited...and waited, but still no sign of Ravine anywhere. I looked back at my pocket watch to see the time, and it was 4:29 pm. "Well, he's late." I said getting up from a big rock I was sitting on. "Who does he think he is making a lady wait. I have never waited this long for anybody in my life." I angrily dust off all the dirt on my dress. " That little piece of-"
"Sorry I'm late." Said a voice interrupting me from my sentence. "Oh my heavens!" I said quickly, turning around to find Ravine hiding in the woods. " Oh, it's just you Ravine." I said putting a hand on my heart while taking a sigh of relief. " I apologize Iris. Me and my mother were having a long chat, so it was hard to come on time." He said moving closer to me.
" Hm, I suppose I could forgive you, but don't scare me like that again. Understand?" I said pointing my finger at him. He nodded showing he understood. I looked up at him and realized he had his mask on. " Do you always wear that?" I asked crossing my arms. " wear what?" He question looking down at me. " This-" He moved back from me when I tried to touch his mask.
" Please, don't touch it." He begged looking down at his feet. " Oh...I am sorry." I apologize moving a little further away from him. I looked Ravine up and down, looking at his dark brown cloak that covers his whole upper body and thighs, black plants, and heavy brown looking boots. His hair was messy covered with leaves from the trees. If you looked at him you wouldn't believe he was the son of the richest family in England, but that is if you got rid of his mask; nothing but rubies and diamonds all over that mask.
I stopped realizing I had been staring at him for a little too long. " Why don't we go for a walk." I said walking into the woods. I heard him follow right after me. " Do you came here a often?" I asked looking up at him. "Only when I need to get away from my mother." He replied back. I nodded looking back in front of me. " How about yourself?" "No. I am not aloud in the woods. 'it's not lady like' my father says." We both laugh a little as I try to imitate my father's voice. We walk though the woods in silence for a long while. It was quite calming having someone to walk with, even though no one was saying a word.
We had ended up in a big opened meadow surrounded with trees and had a single tree on a hill in the middle of it. "Shall we?" I said smiling up at him as I moved my arm to tell him to go first. He hesitated at first looking at me, but then he took a big breath and started walking. I had a smile on my face as I walked behind him, adoring the the beautiful meadow feeling the wind as I walked throw it.
We had made it to the tree on the hill. Ravine sat down under the tree making a sigh of relaxation as he closed his eyes. I looked at his body and it seemed like he was at peace. He opened his eyes to look up at me staring at him. I looked away not wanting to be rude. "Sit." Ravine patted the spot next to him. " Oh no, I am fine." I reassured him giving a small smile. " Come, sit." He said putting his hand up for me to take. " Ravine, I said I am fine-..." I was cut off by Ravine, pulling me down to sit next to him.
I was shocked at first looking at Ravine with wide eye, but then I laughed a little of the fact that he pulled me down just to sit next to him. "Have you've been here?" I asked him as I played with a small flower. He shook his head 'no'. " I have walked throw these woods many times, but never seen this place." He explained. I was about to say something till I noticed something was wrong... Sebastian was gone. " Where's my dog?" I asked mostly to myself as I got up from where I was sitting. " Sebastian, come here boy!" I yelled walking away from the tree. Ravine sat up and walked up to you.
" Sebastian, boy!" I yelled starting to speed walk towards the woods. " Wait, Iris!" I looked back to find Sebastian sitting with Ravine innocently wagging his tail as he looked at me. " Sebastian!" I yelled running up to them. " How dare you make me worry like that...I thought I lost you." I went down on my knees and gave Sebastian a hug.
Ravine went back up to the tree and sat back down. " Sebastian, is really important to you." I looked up at Ravine and gave him a small smile. " Ha, he's very important." I said as I sat next to Ravine. " When did you get him?" Ravine asked. " Well, it's long story." "We have time." Ravine said as he moved himself to face me.
" Well, alright. When I was fourteen I had ran away from home because I was upset with my parents praising my little sister Ethel, for something I did. It's silly I know, but I was tired of feeling like no one cared about me." I said looking out at the Meadow.
"It was a sunny afternoon and I was crying under a tree being jealous that my sister was the favorite child. Being Jealous that I couldn't make my parents proud of me."
I looked at Ravine and saw him looking down seeming in deep thought. " I cried for hours on end till I could no longer shed a tear. It was starting to get cold and I was freezing, but my pride wouldn't let me go back crying to my parents. I ended up sleeping outside under that tree.
When I had awaken I felt something wet tickle my nose. I opened my eyes and saw a cute big puppy." I smiled at the thought of seeing Sebastian's face for the first time. "After that I laid my eye's on Sebastian I knew that he was going to be mine, so I picked him up and took him home with me. When I had gotten home it seemed like I never left.
The only difference was that my parents did not agree with me having a pet, but I told them ' Mother, Father. I am keeping this puppy...I am not asking you, I am telling you.' as I said those words they never said anything else about Sebastian." I laugh remembering their angry faces.
" How did you feel after?" Ravine asked looking into my eyes. " I felt...I felt happy. I felt happy because it seemed like my parents were proud of me for the first time in my life." It was silent nothing but the wind singing a quiet forgotten song.
" Do you dance?" I asked Ravine looking at the green grass. " Do I dance? No, not often." he replied. I got on my feet and put my hand out for him to take.
"Would you care to dance?"
