Costano held his temples, thinking of his meeting with Nino two days prior. Thinking more so the words he had spoken. Did Arabella tell you anything about the divorce process?
No matter how much he busied himself, the question always popped up in his mind. Costano still had no idea why Nino even brought it up. Arabella hadn't mentioned anything to Costano as of today. So why?
He leaned back on his chair and ran a hand through his charcoal black hair. He placed his glasses on his desk and rubbed his eyes. Why was it bothering him so much, he asked himself.
Because it would mean she'd stay with her husband. Costano would no longer have any chance with her to be more than friends. Just ask her. He should've asked her. These were things he needed to speak with her about, but he was afraid of what she would say.
Their next meeting would be tomorrow. After her appointment, Arabella had agreed to meet him after checking her schedule. Her message was brief about the progression of her pregnancy. All that mattered to Costano was that she and her baby were healthy. Arabella was happy, and that was all he cared about. If she wanted to tell him more, he wouldn't prevent her from doing so, but he wouldn't pry into her life unless it related to his job or was necessary.
A ding resonated through his office. He checked his desktop and saw a message from his assistant, Ms. Dunn, letting him know his next appointment had arrived. Costano sent her a quick reply to allow them in.
Meanwhile, Arabella laid in Chloe's white couch. It in front of it sat a grey wooden floor table and beyond that was a grey stone wall with a fire pit that ran along its entire bottom. Lamps hung from one part of the ceiling. Grey plush seats, a white rug, orange colored seats and a few other decorations tied the room together into a modern look. Chloe's home was two stories high. It's walls were mainly made of windows that allowed sun and moonlight to bounce against its white walls and grey wooden floors.
Chloe sat at the other end of the couch. She had a filled wine glass in one hand and her other hand was free, flipping the pages of the magazine that covered her lap. Arabella browsed through her social media. Every few seconds, she'd like and sometimes comment underneath one of the many positive comments beneath her posts.
"Oh look!" Chloe spoke enthusiastically. Arabella shifted her gaze to the magazine that was now pointed to her. The page consisted of a picture of the two of them from their last photo shoot. "We look amazing, as always." Chloe sipped from her wine.
She then pointed at the next page. There were two pictures with text surrounding them, talking about the collection. The picture at the top left corner was of Adrian and Arabella. The one taking most of the bottom of the page had several of the models from that shoot, including Arabella, Chloe, and Adrian. However, Chloe's finger pointed towards the top one.
"You both look great honestly." Chloe commented before taking another sip. "Hot as fuck to be precise."
Arabella let out a small laugh. "You've always been photogenic," she commented. "The pink and black combo looks great on you, especially that outfit." Arabella pointed to the picture of them together.
