Kaiyoko lifted her bass guitar case as she stepped out of her boarding house and took a long loud yawn. 5:45 AM was the current time in Yongen-Jaya, Japan and she wanted to head to school early to practice without being seen. Of course she knew the school wouldn't be open this early, but she took off running down the quiet streets of the neighborhood.
She passed by LeBlanc Café and noticed the attic lights were on for some reason.
"Hmm.. maybe Boss Sojiro might be looking for something there.. it would be good to have some warm breakfast but I gotta catch the trains early. I made the right descision preparing two bento boxes both for breakfast and lunch. I gotta find a part-time job soon because granny won't be sending money for another month. Should i go for a game design job? Nope.. I'm too young for it. What about a barista at a café? That wouldn't be too bad since i have decent brewing and cooking skills. A part-time sound track producer would also be fine.. Then- Oh...?"
Kaiyoko paused and looked at her hands. Another new vein became visible in sight on the surface of her hands. She then sighed hopelessly as she thought of
what may have caused them. Maybe because she practiced a bit too hard yesterday and wet her hands too early? Or probably she've been lifting too many heavy sound mixers and speakers into her compact studio? Thoughts raced across her mind until a light breeze blew across her hair. She then snapped out of her brainstorming and headed straight to the train station."Man.. Today's another day in school. I hope something interesting happens even atleast once.. Well who knows when my life will change.. I still have my whole lifetime to figure out if it does!"
Kaiyoko gave herself a small chuckle as she continued to walk to the train station while the dark sky broke into a beautiful sunrise.
A few days later...
"S'cuse Me!" "Ah! I'm so sorry!" "woAH-"
Kaiyoko somehow managed to get through the bustling crowd in the train station. Seeing most of the trains were full she decided to make a run for a train that had less people. As she stepped into the train she immediately sat down and leaned on the train's seat as she countinued to catch her breath.
"Thank goodness I caught a train going to Shujin without much people. I can finally breathe at ease.."
She hugged her guitar case close to her chest and looked around for a bit. The TV was saying something about some "Detective Prince" solving a case. Then she looked up to her front to see a tall, handsome and slender figure sitting in a corner. His Onyx eyes examined his sorroundings curiously as he continued to play with the strands of his dark raven hair almost covering his eyes. Then those very Onyx eyes of his met Kaiyoko's Amethyst eyes. Then his face
lit up and slowly approached her."Wait- Hold on- He's approaching me- Crap, what do I say?! A-And why is he approaching me? Come to think of it I never seen him before but he's wearing the same uniform as me so I guess I'll be fine! Maybe he's a senior I never met before a-and he wants to talk to me because I'm new? Wait wait wait-"
Kaiyoko looked at his collar and in a split second noticed a small circular pin that had the number 2 on it
"HE'S A SECOND YEAR?!!"
As that statement echoed through her thoughts as she tried to come up with a good inpression with another student, Kaiyoko felt dumbfounded. Very dumbfounded. As if her IQ dropped to 5.
The raven-haired student looked concerned as he approached her thinking he might have scared her."E-Excuse me..? Are you from Shujin Academy by any chance?"
Kaiyoko looked up and put on her decent friendly smile to avoid causing any more misunderstandings because that dude looked pretty concerned-
"Yup!"
"Well uh you see.. I'm a transfer student and i was thinking you could well uhh.. sorta help me with-"
"Oh man you're a transfer?! Well so am I two months ago! If its company or any school business I can help! Not really all of them since I'm still a transfer too and well uhh- I'm still adjusting. You'll get used to it bud!"
"T-Thanks."
"Oh how rude of me to not tell you my name- The name's Kaiyoko Hachidori. A second year transfer just like you!"Kaiyoko got up on her feet and straightened out her hand as the other transfer student straightened his posture. This guy is a whopping 5'9 and well.. he's practically 8 inches taller than Kaiyoko.
"oH dANG HE'S SO TALL-"
Kaiyoko echoed in her thoughts
"Then here's my name"
"I'm Ren Akira. Nice to meet you Hachidori-san"
"Eeh, drop the honorifics alright? I might be a few months younger than you- Nah, I'm kidding- Call me whatever you want. Alright Akira-kun?"Kaiyoko smiled cheekily as she shook Ren's hand as a sign of a friendly greeting. He smiled at her liveliness and shook her hand back.
"Alright."
