Ross was sitting in the back of the class as was her usual manner, barley listening to the teacher drone on and on about  what she thought was mathematics. To be quite frank she had forgotten where she was for a momment, her mind had been elsewhere and if not for the textbook infront of her she may of forgotten all together.

This was not unusual for Ross, most of the teachers here bored her as did most of the students, very few had ever been much more than a distraction from the unfaltering loneliness she had begun feeling in her teenage years. She frequently regarded them all as sheep, bland and unoriginal. It is possible to note however that she was not always the most interesting figure herself. Her usual clothing for instance was most often an entire body covered in black and little else. No peircings or any really distinguishing marks, and if not for her darker than average skin for this colony and her last name being Sonne she would of blended right in.

" Hey Ross."

She turned her head to see Nathan staring at her.

" What do you want?"

" Did you hear about the supermarket?"

Ross narrowed her eyes and leaned in. " What about the supermarket."

" My older brother was telling me that there was a bombing earlier this morning and thats why classes started late."

Ross's eyes widdened slightly. " A bombing?"

" Yeah, he said the liberation front did it."

" How the hell would he know who did it?"  Ross suddenly spoke with more skepticism, a bombing didn't sound impossible, but knowing who did it if it was only what ross had to presume was a few hours ago did seem impossible or at least improbable.

Nathan's own eyes widened and he leaned back " Nevermind."

Ross watched him for a moment , Nathan was hiding something , this much she was cetain of but what was he hiding?

"Ahem."

As if on cue to ruin whatever mystery Ross had just gotten involved with, mr.Harrington was now hovering over her.

" I hope whatever it is you two are talking about is more important than my cl-"

His speech was suddenly cut off as a bullet passed through the back of his head, the window to his left almost seemed to have a delayed reaction cracking around the fresh bullet hole now present in it.

A flurry of rounds began ripping through the glass and through the students themselves. Screaming, and the sound of an assault rifle filled the air . Ross dived down onto the ground covering her head trying to stay as low as possible.  She looked up for just a brief moment expecting to see nothing but dead fellow students and teacher.

What she had not expected to see was Nathan, holding a gun and yelling into a communicator. She couldn't make out what he was saying through the gunfire that sounded like it was getting louder.

Nathan suddenly stopped yelling and ran to a broken window, he peeked out and fired back like a trained soldier. Ross watched for a moment but decided it would be a better idea to get out of the room.

Mustering all her strength she lifted herself onto her hands and knees and began to move as quickly and as low as she possibly could.

Nathan turned to her " Ross just stay low help is on it's way!"

He turned back to fire again but found only a barrage of bullets for himself. He fell withou another word his lifeless body dead before he even hit the ground.
