Chapter 12: The Scouts

     (Y/N) and the entire 104th were on body disposal duty for the next few days. Right now it was day and the cadets were eating lunch. (Y/N) had felt on edge, he had not known why. He sat at a table and stayed quiet and away from people. For the past four days he had to pick up and burn bodies, write out names and send them to Dot Pixis. Every cadet had to do this but he should have been accustomed to the death. It was a sad few days, he knew every Cadets name, he had to burn them. If he was becoming broken or even hollow, he had no idea how the other Cadets felt, especially the light hearted ones, like Sasha, Crista, Connie and Armin. (Y/N) heard his name called out and he looked at a set of stairs leading to a door. It was a Military Police member, Mikasa and Armin had also been called. He didn't know what exactly he and the other two were being called for. The three of them stood up and followed the Military Police member, he led them through the streets as they made their way to their destination. They eventually made their way to a building, they went inside and they made their way through a hallway.

"If I may interject, where are we going?" (Y/N) asked the soldier.

"I am taking you to the courtroom for the trial of Eren Jaeger," He informed them.

"Trial?" Armin asked.

"The head of the military will decide whether the Survey Corps of the Military Police will take custody of Eren," The three of them stayed silent.

They followed the man and made their way to a set of doors. When they went through the doors they saw a large room, on the back wall were the symbols for the four branches of the military. The swords for the cadet corps, the wings of freedom for the scouts, the roses for the garrison regiment and the unicorn for the military police. Below the symbols was a large tower like area that had a seat for the judge. On the left and right of the room were areas for people to stand. On the left was the scouts and on the right were the military police, in the middle was a large pavilion with a metal post in the middle. Mikasa, Armin and (Y/N) were directed to stand next to the girl named Rico. When they got over there they saw the Commander In Chief, Darius Zachary. He had long grey hair and a grey beard. He also had glasses and appeared to be heavyset. He sat at the seat meant for the judge. Moments later they saw Eren walk through the door being escorted by Military Police members. They led him to the post in the center and one took the post out of the ground. The other ordered Eren to his knees, then took the chain of his handcuffs and put the post through them. Almost like he was an animal. (Y/N) didn't blame them, he had no control over his power so they were in the right.

"Today we are discussing cadet Eren Jaeger's fate, I will relieve custody to either Commander Erwin Smith of the scouts, or Commander Nille Dok of the Military Police. Cadet Jaeger has the unique power of turning into and controlling a titan, keep this in mind when making your arguments. Commander Dok, you may go first,"

"I am Commander Nile Dok of the Military Police Brigade and we believe that Eren Jaeger's body should be thoroughly examined, afterwards it will be disposed of without delay. Careful consideration of the grave damage that validating his existence could bring us led us to this conclusion. Those who hold the reins of power consider him a threat. Yet despite the current situation, these people, including the royal family, have stuck to their policy of their noninterference in matters outside the wall, just like they did five years ago. However, the masses see Eren as a for his part in the counterattack. This has sparked a backlash, mostly among merchants and the people of wall rose. As a result we may even see a civil war consume the territory,"

"A hero!?" Eren interjected. "What the hell is happening out there?" Nile ignored him and continued.

"It is undeniable that his titan power helped us in the counterattack. However, it's also a fact that his existence causes real harm. In no time, he's become a highly politicized figure. Therefore after we extract as much information we can, we will turn him into a martyr against the human race,"
