Chapter 4: The obsession

Sapphire and Candy just got out of science class and were going to lunch. While waiting in the lunch line, Sapphire kept going on and on about her crush. "So should I try to mak-". She was interrupted by Candy. "NO! YOU'VE BEEN TAKING ABOUT HIM ALL DAY! IT'S GETTING REALLY REALLY ANNOYING!" She added. "I FEEL LIKE YOU CARE MORE ABOUT A STUPID BOY YOU BARLEY EVEN KNOW THAN YOUR BEST FRIEND!" Tears arose in Sapphire's eyes. "Ok. If it's going to be like that, then let it be." She said timidly. Sapphire ran away crying. Candy could already feel the guilt.

Gumball and  his brother were sitting at their usual lunch table when he saw Sapphire looking for a place to sit. The blue cat started to worry. Darwin knew it was time to do the right thing. "Hey!" The fish yelled. Sapphire looked the boys way. "Yeah,you!" Darwin felt happy about what he was doing. "Dude,what are you doing?" Gumball asked. Ignoring Gumball, Darwin yelled, "come sit over here!" Sapphire couldn't believe she was about to sit with her crush! She was so happy! So she walked over to the table happily.  "So.." Gumball said timidly. "How's your day at your new school?" He added. "I-i-its been fine." She stuttered a bit. "You look sad!" Darwin repiled. "What's wrong?" "Oh..well...I just lost my best friend and convinced me that you-" really I just said that! Stupidity. Now he knows I like him! Secret admirer s are SECRET! GOSH DARN YOU! Poor Sapphire thought. "Hello?" "Earth to Saphs!" Gumball said while waving his hand in front of her face. Sapphire realized she was staring into space for five minutes. "Oh-sorry!" She said quickly! "Now," Gumball said, "you like who!?! " "Oh, yeah..about that...Gumball.." Sapphire said.."I-I-I think y-you're a nice guy..and you're cute..and...I like you.." She added timidly. Gumball sighed. Darwin was right. She does like me! What do I say? The blue cat thought. And Penny. How will she feel? "Well, I'm just not ready. You see, I just got over a breakup. " "Mabey another time?" Poor Gumball was devistaded. He felt really bad telling her the news. "Oh, ok." Sapphire said. "We can be friends right? I think you and Darwin and your sister are really cool people." " Sure..we can be friends." Gumball happily replied to her.
