Late Night Texts

Basic Starbucks Date

I woke up this morning , turning on my phone . It started up , and I turned the ringer down . Noah came in the room , so I closed my eyes , pretending to sleep . He jumped on top of me playfully and I put my hands on my face , enclosing my fingers to one eye so I could see Noah . I started laughing , and Elise came in , running and started pulling Noah's arm .

" Hey , that hurts ! " , Noah laughed out . " Come on , grab you're sweaters . There's a small breeze outside but it should cool down later . We're going to the most basic place I know of - Starbucks . We could grab breakfast muffins or even a cake pop , I really don't mind . As long as you don't wander off anywhere , okay ? " .

" Okay okay , i want a drink too " I saw , walking downstairs with Noah and Elise .

Noah's parents moved into a modern house because they thought it would make things easier for them and they understood that Noah needed to have a house . After all his parents were pretty rich . They owned 2 houses and 6 pharmacies , which is where they get all the money from .

Anyways , we pull on our jackets and leave the house , going into the small car that could only fit 5 people . He bought it himself , from years and years of childhood money and from his job .

I turn on the radio , and Take Me To Church by Hozier plays . It's one of my favourites , because I love alternative music . It's more calming , but I also love punk and indie . Those helped me through times where I was feeling a little down back when I was 13-15 years old . I didn't go through depression but there was so much drama at the time that I couldn't catch up onto it , and I got sad because my ex boyfriend broke up with me that time , AND I was getting TONS of hate on ask.fm .
Melody and Summer helped me though , with music and mind puzzles . It took my mind off of things for a while , and it really did help .

So anyways , after a 5 minute drive [ there's an actual Starbucks 5 minutes away from my house , I can walk there ] , we finally arrived at Starbucks .

Elise ran to the doors , flung them open , and Noah got hit in the face . We both laughed , and I pointed at Noah and said " God you're such a loser " . " what shut up nooo " he said . Barely anyone was at Starbucks , only about 4 people . I ordered a Peppermint Mocha with a chocolate cake pop . Elise ordered 2 chocolate chip cookies with a caramel frap . Finally , Noah ordered 2 blueberry muffins with a Choco Chip Mocha .

We sat down at the nearest table and chowed down our breakfast . I had morning sleepiness , or morning sickness . My eyes hurt a little bit .

" So is this like a date ? " I said .
" Kind of , but not really , I don't know . " he said . " I know what happened is all sad and I know you don't remember , but you will one day again , and you will wake up from a nightmare , but I will be there to comfort you " .
" Thanks .. I love you so much " I said .

" I love you more than anything " he said .
We had a tiny silence , but we left and went back into the car . I got a text saying I was added to a group chat with Melody , Summer , and Alex . Alex was one of our close friends from Kindergarten . I wonder what's happening .

I put on my seatbelt , awaiting the news .

[ Melody named the group chat " Good and Bad ... " ]

{Melody ; Okay , Alex , can I say it ? }

{ Alex is typing }

{ Alex; Sure .. }

{ Melody ; Alex self harmed }

{ Me ; WHAT !?! }

{ Summer ; ALEX WHY!!!?? }

{ Alex ; Family problems and bullies . I'm switching schools, coming to Valleywood high with you , because I couldn't stand not being without you turtles 💟 }

{ Summer ; promise not to do it again }

{ me ; yeah PLS don't }

{ Alex ; I won't promise that but I'll see you soon , I'm coming next week }

{ Summer , Melody , Me ; okay love YA bye }

* summer has left the chat *
* melody has left the chat *
* Alex has left the chat *
* Kate has left the chat *

I really can't beleive she's coming . I started crying , happy tears .
" What's wrong ? " Noah and Elise ask .
" My other best friend is coming to Valleywood high " I say .
They both smile . We arrive back at the house and I call alex as soon as we arrive .

" Hey " I hear .
" Heyy" I say . " I can't believe you're coming , I miss you so much " .
" I know , I miss you too . We were basically the satanist group , trying to scare people in grade 7 " I say .
" Yeah , I do remember . That was hilarious . Anyways , I'll see you soon , im going back to sleep since my mom is at work " she says .
" Baiii " I say
" byeeee babe ur aquamarine awesome " she said .

I hang up and walk to the couch , thinking of a meetup before school with the four of us , reunited . My best friends , and all of us together . I plan this today , texting everyone the plan .
