When the first rays of the early morning sun peeked its shining face from beyond the horizon, and the blue birds began their merry song, everything was peaceful. And in an apartment complex, living all by himself, the red haired teen scratched his nose and flipped himself over in his bedsheets.
Scattered magazines that lay both open and closed on the carpet showcased famous NBA players, new shoes, and an interview with the generation of miracles. Several Dumbbells stationed themselves at the edge of his unkempt desk, the weights ranging from 5 to 25.
To the right of his desk, his closet door revealed horribly folded clothes (rumpled and un-ironed) and a drawer who's contents looked like its owner stuffed everything inside it in a hurry. Dirty basketball socks that looked like it should've been inside the washer for weeks now littered every corner of his closet, and emitted a putrid smell.
But the red haired, well-muscled boy didn't care as he rolled over again and again on his narrow bed. Then, with a pretentious creak, he tumbled off his bed and landed with a loud OOMF f*ck! Kagami winced in pain and rubbed his throbbing backside, it actually hurt more than the 200 push-ups his coach made him do the previous day (his arms still ached terribly).
He opened his eyes, glanced outside the window, then closed them again, he didn't want to acknowledge waking up... just one more hour... A bit more sleep...
Then to be interrupted by a loud ,"TAIGA!!!!!!!GET YOUR BUTT UP, YOU HAVE SCHOOL TODAY!"
Kagami groaned as his bloodshot eyes flew open in fury ," ALEX! LET ME SLEEP IN PEACE FOR 5 MORE MINUTES WILL YA?" He paused ," please."

Nearby, a bluenette was trotting to Kagami's house in peace, spirits high and wide awake, wondering if Kagami had even gotten out of bed yet. Kuroko gave a small smile and shook his head ," Of course not." He muttered ," Its Kagami-kun we're talking about."
He rounded the corner and gingerly stepped onto the doormat of Kagami's apartment. After surveying the place, the bluenette caught sight of the guy monitoring the reception and walked over to him. The guy's eyes were glazed as he shifted his gaze to Kuroko, it was as if he didn't even register his existence. The bluenette waved a hand in front of the window and cleared his throat.
It was a slow reaction, the guy's expression went from glazed to surprised, which melted to shock, which then melted into disbelief.
"B-but. Wait. How did you- You were- but you were just- You just suddenly app- what?" The guy stuttered, holding his forehead in disbelief.
Kuroko stared blankly at the guy, he got this very often, people never seemed to register his existence at all when he walked up behind them. In fact, they don't even seem to notice he was there even when he's been there the entire time.
He opened his mouth, ready to respond with a rehearsed reply when he felt a strong hand clap his shoulder. He looked over his shoulder and bloomed into a full smile ," You're late Kagami-kun."
"Oi, guard, quit stuttering and give this invisible bastard-" he gently ruffled Kuroko's hair ,"- what he came here for."
Kuroko smiled exasperatedly at the grinning boy looming over him ," Kagami kun, I came here for you, you were supposed to be dressed and ready thirty minutes ago."
Kagami leaned closer to Kuroko and squinted his eyes ," Shut up you invisible bastard, don't lecture me about my priorities."
Kuroko couldn't help but smile inwardly at his immaturity, but suppressed it with great effort as he responded by flicking Kagami on the forehead," Good morning to you as well, Kagami-kun, as always, it is a pleasure to see you."
Kagami smiled and slapped him on the back whilst steering him away from the receptionist - who was still pale with shock- and walked him towards the street.
," No need to be so formal Kuroko, we're all friends here." Kagami grinned as he broke into a run ," Now come on! We're gonna be late!"
Kuroko followed obligingly but frowned ," Kagami kun, you know that I can't keep up with you when you're running."
Kagami, already a ways ahead of Kuroko yelled back ," Last one there gets to endure the wrath of Hyuuga-senpai when we clean up the gym!" And with that, he sprinted towards the school, his flaming red hair growing smaller and smaller as Kuroko attempted to catch up with him. And as the exemplary shadow he is, he failed miserably when it came to beating Kagami. For a shadow can never beat the light.
