The next couple weeks I worked my hardest on training. Jason found an easy way to relax my nerves, so I wouldn't black out again. He believes the reason I blacked out was because I felt anxiety. He showed me the way too slowly relax my muscles one by one and to clear my mind of everything. When I did that, I never faced a blow. I became better and better with each day. I became more familiar with my surroundings as well. I became stronger and I felt more me, then I ever had before. Kyo for the those weeks prepared our pack for the fight to come. Today was my foster brother's birthday, and all though he was not my real brother. He was in my heart. He was all I ever knew. Kyo promised to go with me, he believed he needed to bring respect to my brother, and thank him for protecting me.
"Are you ready Anna?" Edward called out. Edward wanting to tag along to, to pay his respects as well. Although I didn't fully trust him, I could understand his reasoning's.
"Yes, where's Kyo?" I asked.
"He's warming the car up." Edward said. As I found my way to the car with a little over guidance from Edward I got in the front seat. I touch my neck to realize I forgot my necklace.
"I had a feeling you would forget it with everything going on." Kyo said reaching over and putting the necklace on. He started the car up and we went to my brothers spot, where I laid his ashes. I never told anyone that, but I did it to feel closer to him. As I found the log that I always sat on I moved myself closer to the sound of the lake tears in my eyes.
"Happy birthday Mark." I said quietly. "Can you believe it? Your 26 years old now. I wonder what your mate would be like sometimes. You know you would have found her, right?" I cried through my words. Kyo came and sat by me placing his hand on my shoulder. "I wonder how you would look. I miss you so much. I miss your scent, your smile. The way you would always believe me even when I was lying. Mom and dad miss you too. I hope you understand I couldn't tell them about this place. Maybe I'm shellfish for that, but this was ours." I slowly placed my hand in the water, as if I was holding his hand. I cried and cried then I stopped with Kyo's words.
"Happy birthday to my mate's brother. I'm sorry it took so long to introduce myself. I promise to always, and I mean always protect her as you did. I came here to pay my respects, but really, I just wanted to meet the brother who my mate loved so much." He stopped for a second then continued. "She is so strong and beautiful. I believe you had a lot to do with that. I thank you for protecting her for so long, and I promise to come again with her." and with that Kyo ended it. We sat in silence as Edward made his respects. I slowly made my way through the forest towards the car while Edward and Kyo strayed a bit away. Each step was hard I wanted to run straight back and spend the day next to our spot. To enjoy the sun and tell him about my day like I always did. I refused myself though and took heavier steps. Out of nowhere Kyo linked me.
'Anna! Come back quick!' He said I heard the anger in his voice and quickly ran back. I heard Edward whimpering.
"What's going on!?" I asked.
"This man is not your brother. I just got a called from Jason who found your real brother. I'm sorry Anna but he is dead. This man was sent to spy on you." I felt my pulse raise in fury, and sadness. Both brothers I've ever known dead. And this man had the nerve to act as one.
"Who the hell is he?" I asked.
"Speak Rogue!" Kyo demanded. I heard a dark chuckle. This man gave me a bad feeling, when we first met, I wanted to trust him so bad. And that was my mistake. I heard Kyo break a finger one by one, until the man spoke.
"I don't have to tell you anything. Alpha Antonio has a plan, and it will destroy all of you mutts." The strange man spoke, which only pissed Kyo off more. I heard Kyo go to a branch and break it off from the pine tree.
"Mutt? I prefer Alpha. This is how it is going to go. I'm going to ask a question. When you answer and if I like it, I won't drive this branch through your knee cap. But if you don't answer well, I don't have to tell you. Right?" Kyo continued. "What is your Alpha's plan?" The rogue was silent, then a scream. The smell of blood was thick in the air. I could only imagine the pain. The copper filled my nose causing my blood to burn with anger.
"Alright! Please stop I'll talk!" The rogue was in a great deal of pain. Kyo waited in silence. "He has a list of Alpha's and she-wolfs with Alpha blood in them to dispose of. The first is her name."
"Why?" I asked. Nothing and then another scream.
"You're the biggest threat. You could take over his pack." He explained hissing through his words.
"He wants to be the only Alpha left. That way he has the control. He would practically be god if he did that. That's against everything we believe in! Its cruel and shellfish!" Kyo was very upset and it only made me more boiled.
"Why did he send you?" I asked. He was silent once again, then a crack. Kyo was always famous for breaking a few bones.
"He heard inquires of you looking for your brother, and used it to send me. He figured I could learn your everyday life." He said hesitating every word.
"Why?" The rogue didn't fight this one, probably because he already said too much.
"To find the time when you were alone to strike." He said. Kyo didn't leave me alone though and now I understood why. "Please don't kill me, I'll do anything!!" That's when I heard Kyo lift him of the ground.
"Oh I'm not going to kill you. I need you, to understand this Alpha. Although you will wish to be dead. My guards are not gentle." Kyo gave an evil chuckle. As we went to turn towards the car, I felt something off. Kyo held onto him good, but the wind told me something different. Before we both knew it the man pulled a knife out and cut his arm off to get away. All I could smell was blood and metal mixed, but not Kyo's. One thought went into my mind. He must die, if that Alpha finds out we know our leverage was gone. So, I ran after him and in one swift move ripped his heart out. As I dropped the organ to the ground. I looked up hoping Kyo would catch my blind gaze. I shrugged my shoulders as if telling him I didn't know what else to do.
"Hot damn baby! Didn't know you had that in you." He chuckled.
"Me either." I said into the darkness. It scared me to have this power of an Alpha but I wasn't his daughter. Sure, I shared his blood but I wasn't his. I was Kyo's and in turn his Luna. I was the blind Luna. Kyo made his way to me taking his shirt off and cleaning my hands. He always knew how to take care for me. He was everything anyone would want in a partner. I could never imagine killing him like my real father killed my mother. My love for Kyo was so strong no amount of power would make me turn against him. He was the gold and I was his silver.
That night in bed I stayed snuggled up to Kyo, as he caressed my arm. I didn't want to fall asleep I was scared to have another nightmare. To see those dark eyes, reach into my soul. The red made me think of a pool of blood. Maybe it was me seeing my death through his eyes. As if Kyo saw me in my thoughts I felt a wet peck on my forehead.
"Baby, why are you still awake?" He asked gently
"Just can't sleep." It was true but not so true.
"You got to stop thinking about him, love." He coaxed.
"How can I be the daughter of someone who wants to kill innocents?" I said in displacement.
"He is not you. Anna listen to me, really listen to me. You are the strongest most caring woman I have ever known. You are Anna not anyone else. Do you understand?" He said it in loving and calming tone. I kissed his cheek to calm him down.
"I know. Thank you for being my mate. Thank you for loving me." I spoke. I put my forehead against him kissing his eyes next. "Thank you for not being blind." It was a weird thing to say I give you that. But I was grateful for a mate let alone him having vision and being able to spot me. Or to simply not reject me.
"Sliver moons daughter or not. Blind or not. I will love you till the day I stop breathing. You are mine."
"Yours." I fell asleep on his chest.
