Fluff was just your average, teenage brunette girl. She went to a summer school with a group of other kids her age that she referred to as "Team 40", for every afternoon they gathered in the lonely park of their town's fields. As she approached the small building that her daily, three hour long class was held in, she noticed out of the corner of her eye that the fire alarm inside the classroom was flickering frantically. Assuming that it was nothing more than a morning fire drill, she continued to the school in a calm, steady pace, but once she got no more than twenty feet away from the building, that's when she noticed that thick clouds of black smoke emerging from the windows. Her heart rate immediately sped up and pounded in her ears as she noticed that all but one of her classmates had made it out of the front doors of the building, and so - without a second thought - she dashed through the two front doors.
"Wait - no - Fluff!" a boy's voice from the group of students called out, and Fluff immediately recognized the voice as Gren. Although his words did slow down her pace, though not by much, she shook his voice out of her head and entered the school. Her eyes began to burn and her vision blurred as the smoke fiercely whirled about the room, but that didn't stop her - she had to find the missing student. She had to find Blue.
"H-Hey! Are you in here?" she called out, although she could barely hear the sound of her voice over the sound of her heart. "Blue! Answer me!"
But there was no response.
Feeling a bit discouraged, Fluff began to wonder if she had sighted the missing girl incorrectly, but that feeling was immediately washed away by a wave of relief as she noticed a still, blue figure lying on the other side of the room. That was definitely Blue. Luckily the fire hadn't seemed to reach her yet, but the smoke did.
"Blue!" Fluff whispered in relief as she eyed the girl's figure thoughtfully, unsure of how to make her way through the fire and to the other side of the room. Just when she was about to confirm that it was impossible, an idea popped into her head; instead of walking to Blue, she'd parkour to her.
Fluff dropped onto her knees and swung her head as low as possible before inhaling an insane amount of breathe. She then counted to three and stood straight up, squinting her eyes as the smoke pained her vision, but she didn't stop. She looked around frantically, her eyes landing on an untouched bookshelf towards the corner of the room. She carefully made her way to it and climbed to the top of it before cautiously hopping onto a small space on the ground that seemed to not have been touched by the fire yet. She continued this method until she reached Blue, and once she did, she kneeled beside her and checked her pulse.
Luckily she was alive.
"Blue, wake up!" Fluff whispered, her voice hoarse. After a few seconds, the uncautious girl began to twitch, and soon enough, her eyes had flicked open.
"Fluff...?" she mumbled, slowly sitting up. Fluff nodded slowly before suppressing a loud, shocked gasp as she noticed a wound on the girl's arm. "Relax... I just got b-burnt," Blue reassured, plastering an obvious fake smile on her lips.
"It n-needs to be treated, though!" Fluff exclaimed, wripping a small portion of her sleeve off and wrapping it around Blue's burnt wrist shakily. After the brunette had finished securing the cloth tightly on the girl's wrist, she stared at it attentively, looking as though a totally different thought had approached her mind.
"Fluff...?"
Fluff widened her eyes as she heard her voice being called by her friend, and a huge wave of shock filled her as she felt Blue's warm lips press against her own. The two girls sat in a peaceful silence until the raven haired girl backed away gently, a shy smile appearing on her lips.
"...Thank you."
Fluff suddenly felt a strong bond between her and Blue, and from that day forward, the two were officially known as Flue.
