Sarah: How'd it go?!
Me: Well, let's see. My math teacher hates the world, my biology teacher thinks homework 'should be considered as a lecture', and my P.E. teacher thinks I can do pull ups. Yep. Went great!
Sarah: Hang in there. :(
Me: I'll try. :(
Sarah: Good. No go have fun.
I put my phone on Eric's dashboard. We had just gone to get ice-cream and were heading to the hotel. "Your math teacher hates the world, huh." I smiled at him as we pulled up to the hotel.
We walked up to the room, but when he tried the key, it didn't work. He tried again. Nope. He tried five more times. IT WOULDNT LET US INTO OUR FOR NOW HOUSE!!!! We walked down and asked the lady at the desk. "Oh, I'm sorry. You signed out earlier today." We thanked her and Eric called dad.
"Uhuh. I see. Yep. Whatever. Bye." I heard Eric. "So?" I questioned. "So, Dad bought a house this morning, forgot to let us know, and now we live at 311 Dove Hill Avenue." "Great." I mumbled.
We pulled up to what looked like an abandoned, haunted house. Yip to the ee. Dad was standing outside, already paying the house white. "Hey, kids. Go on I and fight over who gets what room. I get master." At that Eric and I raced into our new home. We ran in and didn't even pay attention to the kitchen or living room. We both ran into different rooms. "I call this one!" We both said in unison.
My bed was already made and in one corner. I moved it to the other corner and set everything that I had up- my tall dresser, my bing-bag, my stand by my bed, and my lamp on top of that. I sat on my bed and decided to explore.
There was a bathroom in between my room and Eric's room. In the living room there wasn't any furniture, but if I could talk dad into something that would match it would be nice. The dining room didn't have anything in it; again no furniture. There was an island connecting to the stove and dishwasher along with a decent sink and our fridge.
Eric came and stood next to me. "We need to take dad furniture shopping," I told him. "Yeah. Hey, did you check out the basement?" He asked me. "No. You?" "I started going down the stairs but one creaked and I freaked out." I laughed and laughed at that. "I will go down there with you, baby boy." He snickered. "Whatever."
I walked downstairs and turned the light on. I screamed and David ran downstairs. I doubled over laughing when he screamed to and then immediately stopped when I started laughing and realized I tricked him. "You...scream....like....a....girl!" I said in between laughs. He glared at me and then we explored.
We ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni pizza along with breadsticks and a big bottle of Pepsi. "Uh, dad?" I asked. "Yes, baby girl?" "We don't have cups..." "Oh. Well, we don't have a lot of things. Okay. Ummm... Tomorrow we can get stuff at Target." He said.
After supper I took a quick shower and started my homework. Eric came and knocked on my door. "Yeah?" "Can I come in?" "Sure." I put down my pencil and looked him in the eye. He was concerned. I could tell. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "How are you doing?" He asked me. "Okay, I guess. I mean, this school gives a lot more homework but-" he cut me off. "No. How are you." I could tell he was looking for truth about mom and Sarah and the old town. "Where do I start."
After Eric and I had a serious conversation, I told Dad and Eric goodnight and went to bed.
..............................................................
I woke up at one in the morning. I then heard my phone buzz.
Sarah: Hey!
Me: Hey!
Sarah: Whatcha doin?
Me: Tryin to sleep.
Sarah: People in the halls messing around? :/
Me: No. I forgot to tell you! My dad got a house. We're here now.
Sarah: Oh. When?
Me: This morning. Well, now that it's one I guess yesterday morning.
Sarah: Cool! Is it nice?
Me: Yeah.
Sarah: Alright. I got to go. Bye!
Me: Bye!
I set down my phone and tried to sleep. But I couldn't. I didn't know why, but I did know that tomorrow was going to be a long day.
