"Life is like an ocean", she whispered to me that day, "How?" I whispered back.
"You will see" she replied.
As I look out to the sea I'm filled with memories from my childhood, some pleasant some not so much. One distinctive feeling I'm promptly reminded of during this time was the first time I met Roseanna.
It was the 31st of September 2015, and I was travelling home from being on holiday with my family in Australia.
As we were patiently waiting for our plane to start boarding I saw this beautiful girl, from her height and her facial features I'd guess her to be around my age, 18 years old probably being the oldest. Her blonde hair swaying all over the place as she walks composedly to our waiting area. Something seems to be familiar by the way she's acting but I can't seem to pinpoint what it seems to be.
As I briefly look at her, her eyes meet mine, and boom this feeling kicks in immediately. I knew this girl would become the love of my life maybe not now but maybe in due course. As I walk over to speak to her, I understand she is 6 months older than me, as we continue to speak while we are waiting to board, we both discover that we live extremely close together only living two streets away from each other.
I ask her for her number, she's very resistant at first and then gives it to me despite her parent's objection.
As the departure boards turn to board we say our goodbyes not knowing if or when we would see each other again. We didn't know whether it was the start of a new beginning or just a conversation between strangers. But I knew in my heart this wasn't over. I just knew I would see her again and I did.
