I remember the day so clearly, Almost like it was yesterday. We were in year 4, Mel had handed over an invite to her birthday party on Sunday "Here! I hope you come sam, It's on Sunday!" I just smiled at her. I could have at least said thank you but it's quite a bit too late for that.
The next day, it was already Friday and class was ending. Mel had come over to my desk and asked me a question "What did your father say?" I replied with "Say to what" she paused for a moment just staring at me as if I did something wrong "To my birthday party invite sam!" I had forgotten about her birthday invite "Oh, he said sure" she looked so happy but then the teacher Told everyone to sit back down.
After school, she followed me to my bicycle "What are you doing Mel? You know your mother is waiting for you." she stopped looking at the birds and looked at me "I Just wanted to say goodbye. . ." I was a bit surprised, she never liked saying goodbye to me since she believed we would live forever (Wh1ch sh4 w@s wR0nG) "Oh, well see you tomorrow Mel" she smiled at me, again "See ya!" then she walked off.
