The man stepped out into the cold air outside, and let out a deep breath. So far, so good. He began to walk briskly down the street, away from rowdy the bar. Hanging around after the meeting wasn't worth the risk. He started to relax as he moved further away from the men, and nearer to safety. This was his mistake.

He gradually became aware of someone's presence nearby. He risked a quick glimpse behind him, but no one was there. He didn't need to see who it was, all he knew was he had to leave now. He immediately burst into a sprint along the empty street. He wouldn't stop until he knew he was safe.

He stood at the end of the alley, the walls around him stretching high above, enclosing him in the dark space. He stood there, silent, as he recovered his breathing. His insides felt as though they were being torn into tiny pieces, and his lungs burned as he gulped down the freezing air. He trembled with exhaustion as he hid in the dark. He hadn't seen anyone suspicious since he had set off, but he knew he still wasn't safe. He squinted at the opening of the alley, where the dim lights from the street leaked into the darkness. No sign of anyone, but he didn't dare leaving, he couldn't risk losing the package.

The light vanished as a dark shadow appeared, blocking out the small amount of light that was left. The man stepped back, squashing himself against the wall so as not to be seen. But who was he kidding? The shadow knew he was there. He gripped onto the cold, rough stone behind him as the figure slowly walked forward, growing taller, the nearer he came. He stopped a metre away and whispered in a deep voice, “Give it to me now, and I'll leave you alone.” The man didn't move. He stood in shock, waiting for the mysterious figure to do something. He stared at the dark figure, terrified as they loomed above him.

“Wh-who are y-you?” he stuttered, “What d-do you want from me?”

“I think you know why I'm here,” the figure growled, “And as for who am I?” The figure stepped forward into a beam of moonlight, revealing himself to the startled man. “They call me Nacho – Macho Nacho.”
