When Dick had mentioned tutoring me I didn't think quite literally. I thought he'd take me back into the showers but here we sat from across each other in a very dim lit café. In his hand a tall mug of black coffee steamed. On my side, a cold brew latte stood with extra caramel and mocha.

There was no one around us. The booth we had chosen had been hidden behind a wall with pictures of the rolling stones and queen glued onto them.

"Ok, so you know about the chain rule now" Dick stated, pointing his pen to a formula that God knows held so many variables and parentheses.

I nodded my head, my chin resting on the palm of my hand. I looked drowsily at him. Practice was tiring today and now he thinks I can do math at this moment.

"Ok so write it for me" Dicks eyes narrowed knowing I wasn't paying attention. My lips frowned in annoyance.

"I know about it not memorized it" I groaned throwing my head onto the table already wanting to go home. I heard him sigh above me and then felt his hands stroke the top of my head.

"Come on, if I can do it so can you Lo" He muttered, I brought my head up to see him take a sip of his coffee. I decided to take a sip of mine although knowing caffeine absolutely destroys my sleep schedule.

I grabbed my pencil and went to try writing down the formula I just learned. When I was stuck on the second factor, I felt my blazer begin to buzz. I looked at Dick and back down to my pocket. He gave me the nod for reassurance and I scrambled to see who was calling me.

Dad

My eyes furrowed together in confusion. Timidly, I clicked the accept button and put him on speaker out of habit.

"Hello?" I asked looking down at my screen.

"Hey Rory" my dad spoke. He sounded tired. His breathing a little shaky.

"Hey dad" I responded back. I felt Dick sit straight now. My eyes looked up at him so see him staring at my screen intensely. I never told him about my dad, or mom. All he knew was I had an uncle who worked for his adoptive father.

"You in town in two weeks?" I heard my phone say, "I'm heading to New York and wanted to see you" He finished.

My head shoot up to Dick as if he would help.

"Um...why?" My tongue slipped with slight attitude. I looked outside the window to my left, my hand jerked up and hit the bottom of the table in nervousness. I hadn't seen my father since May, it was now October.

"What do you mean why, I'm your father Aurora" My father spat, his breathing becoming heavier the minute. I felt my body freeze as he said my real name, my mothers name. A couple seconds passed and I remained quiet. I could feel under the table Dicks fingers grasp onto mine.

"Aurora, what are you doing" My father sighed probably thinking I was out doing something bad.

"I'm with my boyfriend" I blabbered not thinking straight. My hand left Dicks contact as it slapped across my mouth to shut me up. Dicks eyebrows rose, a sly smirk made a way across its face. His hand rubbed down his chin to try and hide his smirk.

"Boyfriend? Aurora since when" My father grumbled, his connection slightly going off.

"Since summer?" I chirped talking a sip of my drink. The caffeine only making me more frantic.

"And are you staying safe, put me on the phone with him" He spoke nastily. My cheeks flared in embarrassment, I knew Dick was trying hard not to laugh. Dicks tongue licked his bottom lip and bit it to prevent him from saying anything.
