The Great Fairy asked the selfish boy if he wanted to live forever. How could the he say no? He jumped at the offer. The Fairy smiled at him.

She chanted words in an ancient tongue and light gathered at her fingertips. She waved her arms and scattered the energy in the air. A spell was cast on the forest around them.

"As long as you are within this forest, you shall not be touched by Death. But you shall pay a price in return. Your freedom," The fairy said to the boy. She continued to speak.

"The enchantment I have laid upon the forest also makes it impossible to escape. Wander any distance and in any direction. It makes no difference. The forest loops upon itself. There is no exit path."

The selfish boy gave a terrified look to the Fairy. And before he could say anything She and the Fountain disappeared. They faded into the shadows.
