Marco is the younger sibling out of the two. So after their parents' divorce, their dad had custody over Marco and their mom has custody over Mona.

Things were chill at first until their dad lost his job, gambled off to the point that they had debt collectors banging on the door every single day and what's worst was that Marco almost got kidnapped to be God knows what, either a bag of meat or a sex slave. Thankfully that didn't happen.

Marco had a hard time at that point. Having his dad take it all out on him and constantly reminding him that he was the cause of all the misfortune shaped his mind to actually believe it until his sister came to know his condition.

At the age of 10, Marco ran away with a newly independent 14-year-old Mona, who abandoned the new comfortable life she had with their mom and supposedly new step dad. They had only each other since then.
