TANIA AND LUKA had picked Lola up from the airport, and the family of three talked and talked about the trip Lola went on. The food, the gelato, the bright turquoise water, and the scenery. As soon as they got back home, Lola quickly changed into a more summery outfit, because the clothes she was wearing on the plane were just sweatpants and a crewneck. After she changed the three picked up Jasmine (Luka's girlfriend), and headed for the summer festival that was happening in the town center.
Lola hatedtown festivals. They were a stupid excuse for Taylor Doose to be even more in charge of the town than he already was. Besides, the food was terrible. She had come with her mother, Luka, and Jude was supposed to meet them there. She couldn't help but wonder where Jess was.
"Who are you looking for?" Luka asked his sister as she searched the town.
"No one, I'm just taking in all the madness, that's all." She lied.
"Lorelai, good. Have you used the cream yet?" Kirk approached the James family and Jasmine. The three teens looked at each other in confusion.
"Uh, not yet, Kirk." Tania smiled, but it wasn't genuine.
"Good," Kirk nodded. "There's been a little problem."
"What kind of problem?" Tania sighed.
"Nothing of major concern. It just seems that with continual use, the cream develops some weird reactions to light... and air... and movement."
"Are you serious?" Tania scoffed, looking at Kirk in disbelief.
"Don't worry, it's just a small kink. It'll all be worked out soon."
"We have three cases of that stuff sitting at the inn."
"Well, get rid of it." Kirk told her.
"Kirk."
"Uh, but don't throw it in the trash. Apparently, that would be an EPA violation."
"What am I supposed to do with the stuff?" Tania exclaimed.
"Shooting it into space is about all I've got now." Kirk shrugged.
"Kirk!"
"I'll pick up the cases tomorrow." He nodded, walking off.
"Thank you." Tania turned to the teens. "Hey."
"What?" Luka asked.
"Do you sometimes think this town is weird or is it just me?" She said as Taylor wheeled over to them in his wheel chair. A couple months ago he slipped and fell on a banana peel which resulted in a wheelchair. "Hey Taylor, is this where the mosh pit starts?"
"Well, hello Tania, Luka, Jasmine, Lola. So what do you think of the band? Pretty big city, don't you think?" Taylor glowed with pride.
"Mm, I sure do." Jasmine said sarcastically and Lola snorted in amusement.
