Chapter 6 - Mission Story Time

Over a week had passed since Y/N's introduction to Beacon, along with it's students.

In that time, the young dragon began getting more and more acclimated to his new environment. The student body was made aware of the boy's circumstances early on, and took quite well to him being in beacon. And in turn, Y/N himself started getting used to everyone around him.

Besides one unfortunate incident, which was quickly straightened out of course, by a student who discovered her innate motherly ferociousness.

Over the last few days, Y/n spent most of his time with either his Auntie, or with his next most favourite person.

It was a sad day for Ozpin, when he learned that he wasn't that person.

Y/n's second most favourite person in the academy was none other than Velvet Scarlatina, who Y/n affectionately took to calling 'Bun-Bun'.

It was a strange connection that the two shared, as Y/n attached himself rather quickly to the young woman and she, in turn, seemed rather fond of him from the moment she first had him in her arms when Glynda first left him in her care.

She got the chance to watch over the little guy a few times since, this time making sure to keep and eye on the unpredictable dragon faunus at all times, and got to bond with him further. Not that there was much need for extreme caution anymore, as Glynda made sure to lay out some ground rules to her nephew, to make sure he doesn't cause any needless chaos like first time.

They weren't anything too strict, surprisingly enough. She merely let him know where he could and couldn't go on his own, as well as some general behaviour etiquette. She let him know early on that he should never go anywhere near the Emerald Forest alone, under any circumstance, and that was something he had no problem with as he was well aware of what lurked inside.

After that, she let him know that he shouldn't leave Beacon's grounds without someone to look out for him. She didn't assign anyone specific though, leaving that person to be whoever Y/n felt comfortable with, which the young dragon was happy with.

Beyond that, it was the typical do's and don't's when he had someone other than her look after him. Don't stray too far from said person, don't beg them for unreasonable things, don't throw tantrums, etc etc.

All in all, minus the movement restrictions, they were more of Guidelines than actual rules. And Y/n was okay with it. Beacon was a big place, he had plenty of space to move around.

He also had plenty of people he became friends with, that would keep him company.

In particular, teams RWBY and JNPR, along with Velvet's own team, CFVY.

In hindsight, it's not surprising he became close to them, as they were the first people he interacted with after coming to Beacon, and though some had a rocky start with the boy, he eventually warmed up to them all.

Coco, the leader of team CVFY, in particular was very grateful for that fact. After young Y/n hugged her for the first time, one could say she became addicted to his cuteness. Now, whenever Velvet is in charge of Y/n, she does everything in her power to entertain him so he can shower her with hugs and general cuteness.

Teams RWBY and JNPR had individuals with similar intents, in Weiss and Nora respectively. Unfortunately for them, the only times they got a chance to get hugs was when Y/n was with Glynda and she took him with her to class.

Like today, for instance.
