She watches the sun rise from Al's bed, not having been able to sleep because she was listening out for any kind of noise outside just in case someone tried entering Al's home while they were in bed. Seeing the sunlight creep in through the blinds eases her brain slightly, Danielle finding comfort in the bright light as her body relaxes, her brain registering the sunlight as something that can't harm her. She feels herself relax a bit from having been tense all night. 'I feel so bad. I was probably the worst to sleep with last night because I was so stiff.' She thinks to herself with a small frown as she looks up at Al who's still quietly asleep, her eyes looking over his peaceful expression. Her right hand extends towards his face, about to very gently brush her knuckles against his cheek in a tender way, but his voice stops her. "Did you feel me looking at you?" He asks softly, opening his eyes and looking right at her, grabbing her extended hand and placing her palm against his cheek, keeping his hand on top of hers. He smiles a bit when he sees a blush that spreads across her face. "Uh no...I thought you were sound asleep." She answers truthfully, smiling at him, a sight he knows he'll enjoy seeing the next two mornings. "You were?" She asks softly, slowly brushing her thumb against his cheek. "Yeah. I didn't ever really fall asleep last night. Also, you touching me like this is giving me an excuse to make us purposely late to work." He tells her with a smirk as her cheeks grow warm again, Danielle nuzzling her face in his neck. "Good morning, sugar." He tells her, kissing the top of her head gently. "Good morning." She says against his neck, Al feeling her smile. "I guess we should get up." He says after they stay like that for a few minutes, but neither of them move. "I don't want to." She tells him softly as she plays with the ends of his hair, the 59 year old smiling to himself. "Why not?" He asks, Danielle hearing his smile in his voice. "Because you're so warm." She answers softly. "We can always do this tonight." "Promise?" "I promise." He answers, both sitting up, getting out of bed, and gathering their clothes for the day.
~A little while later~
"Are we good to go?" Danielle asks Al as she makes her way to the living room. He looks up from having been reading the newspaper that gets left at his front door every morning, finding her ready to go:He slowly stands up from the couch, walking over to her, the 20 year old unaware of what's happening as his eyes look over her outfit over and over. Feeling self-conscious, she looks down at herself to make sure she's not having a wardorbe malfunction. "This has ruching." He tells her softly, placing his hands on both of her sides, right over the small section of drawstring. "Yeah...?" She says, very confused as to what he's getting at, looking up at him. "You better hope I don't find a way to tease you at work." He says softly, giving her a small smirk before quickly kissing her lips, Danielle blushing as she kisses him back before he pulls away. "Let's go. I've got your bags." He tells her, taking her work bags from her, motioning for her to walk ahead of him to the front door. Once on the porch, he locks up while having her stand next to him, practically at his hip. "Go ahead and get in, I'll put your bags in the back." He tells Danielle, opening the passenger door for her, watching her get into the Magnum before he puts her work bags into the backseat, making his way to the driver side. "Can I put some music?" She asks once he's driving out of his neighborhood. "Yeah. We just gotta keep it at low volume." He tells her. "I can do that." She says, plugging the aux cord into her phone then pulling up her music, pressing a random song after making sure the volume to the car isn't loud, resting her hand on the middle console. "Yes, I love this song." She happily says as 'Special' by The Game featuring Nate Dogg starts playing. Being she loves it, Al pays close attention to the lyrics, the sniper happily singing and rapping along to herself as she looks out the passenger window. "Girl I'll do anything to make you feel special, man it's easy to see you're special to me, whether we lovers or friends, we'll always be, I want you to know, you're special. Girl I'll do anything to make you feel special, man it's easy to see you're special to me, whether we lovers or friends, we'll always be, I want you to know, you're special." Nate Dogg sings the chorus for the first time, Al glancing down at their hands that are both resting on the middle console for a brief second. Hoping she catches his drift, he moves his right hand to be holding her left one as he laces their fingers together, the sniper looking over at him in surprise as she feels heat rush throughout her body. "I like your style, like the way you move, the way you talk, the way you smile, the way you swingin' them hips when you walk, the way you look, the way you ride when you workin' them thighs, the way you lickin' your lips when you look in my eyes, you down for me? I'm down for you, you go down on me, I'll go down on you, I wanna do all the things that your man won't do, I'm from the hood, so I know how to handle you." The Game raps, Al taking a few glances at Danielle who is looking at him already. Even though he looks back at the road, they both smile at the same time, knowing each other is happy to be together. "Do you think the boys freaked out?" She asks him over the soft music. "Most likely. Especially Adam and Kevin. They can be a bit dramatic." He answers, earning a small laugh and nod of agreement from her. "How long do these bounty things usually last?" "Just depends if they can get to you or not. Obviously we're not gonna let that happen so hopefully you'll be clear by the weekend." "Do you think Hank will confine me to the office?" "If he's like me, which he is, he won't be able to say no to you so he'll let you be out and about unless he really feels like you'll be in danger." "Hopefully this blows over soon. At least they taught me what to do at the academy." She says softly as he pulls up to the station, Al parking across the street from the main doors. A car quickly parks behind them while they don't notice, Adam happily getting out of it with his sunglasses on. He creeps up on the driver side door, wanting to surprise them both with his presence so the three can walk inside together. As he's passing by the driver side backseat window, he catches a glimpse of the two holding hands, Danielle laughing at something Al just told her. 'Oh my God, it's happening! I knew it! I knew he likes her!' Adam thinks to himself with a huge smile before he softly knocks on the driver window, Olinsky and Rodriguez letting go each each other's hands quickly, trying to play it off like he was handing her something. The 32 year old waves at them as he looks inside the vehicle, moving aside when Al opens his door, he and Danielle getting out of the Magnum. "Morning, Adam." She tells him with a small smile, both hugging each other before Adam hugs Al, also greeting him. "Are we having a morning meet out here or what?" Antonio's voice asks the three, all of them turning around to find him walking over to them, a small smile on his face. "Hahah, nice one, dude. Hey, Al, I've got this, uh, thing I need to show you...it's in my car." Adam says, wanting to talk to his mentor alone. "Is it alright if I walk inside with Antonio?" Danielle asks Al, looking around a bit. "Yeah, just hurry." He answers, he and Adam watching both partners turn around, cross the street, and hurry inside the district, Antonio keeping an eye out as he walks behind Danielle. "What do you wanna show me?" Al asks, still looking towards the station's front doors even though his crush is already inside and most likely halfway up to Intelligence by now. "Oh well you're gonna laugh but I, um, I don't have anything to show you. I just wanna talk to you." Adam says with a small smile, rubbing the back of his neck a little. "About?" Al asks, looking at him. Ruzek collects his thoughts, trying to put them into words in a way that they'll sound good. "You and Danielle." He answers, mentally face palming himself for giving such a simple answer. "What about us?" Al asks, already knowing what he's trying to get at. "Look, I saw you two holding hands just now in your car. Was that an old Olinsky trick of some kind? Because if she thought of it as friendly, I mean, c'mon, Al, I can do some big boy digging around and see if she likes you. Maybe she's oblivious or just gets nervous and doesn't know how to act." Adam offers, kind of avoiding his mentor's eyes but also hopeful he can maybe help his friend. "Let it go, kid." Al tells him softly. He doesn't need Ruzek to find out how Danielle feels, Olinsky already knows. "I will not. I can tell you like her, so just let me gather some info. What's the worst that can happen?" "Again, just let it go." "Seriously, Al, I-" "Okay, you wanna have a big boy conversation? Here's the big boy topic; she and I have slept together twice in the past few weeks. And that time I said she had a hickey but she told you all it was a small burn from her flatiron, she lied because I really did give her that hickey like two minutes before you walked into the locker room." Al calmly tells Adam who's mouth is slightly ajar, but soon closes as a giant smile makes its way to his lips. "Whoa, really? Oh my God, I never would've thought." Adam says with a soft laugh of happy disbelief, following Olinsky as his mentor crosses the clear street. "Was it a good time?" Adam asks, wiggling his eyebrows a bit. "Don't you ever ask me that question again, kid." Al answers, Ruzek apologizing, noticing how defensive Al got about Danielle. "How long ago are we talking about? Are you two official, you both figuring it out, or is it strictly just for fun?" Adam says, getting excited as they both make their way up to the palm scanner. Al looks at Adam who's eagerly waiting for answers. "The Friday night those Narcotics guys took her to the club and we met her there was our first time, then two weeks ago was our second. We're not official but-" "Al, can I help you in asking her to be your girlfriend? I can find out what flowers she likes and all that good stuff." Adam says softly with a grin, Al chuckling at the 32 year old. "I'll let you know when, kid. For now, you gotta be cool, act like you don't know about any of what I just told you." Olinsky tells him. "Got it. Act cool. I'll be as cool as ice, just like an ice cube. Like Ice Cube the rapper-" "Don't make me regret telling you." Al sternly whsipers as they both round the corner to the second flight of stairs. "I won't, I promise." Adam whispers back before they both finish walking up the steps. "Hey, Danielle, how-how are you doing from last night?" Mouse asks her, sitting on one corner of her desk. "So far, so good." She answers with a small smile, thanking him for asking. "Coffee's done brewing." Jay announces from the break room, Mouse, Adam, Al, Antonio, and Danielle making a quick beeline for the room. Adam lets her get in front of him as they all get disposable cups from the counter, giving her a slight wink which the 20 year old smiles at but is confused by as she gets in front of him, now being behind Al.
