It was a quiet summer Sunday morning as the family got themselves together to go to church. It now took them twenty minutes to get there. Freedom was still the same, not much had changed in a year. As soon as they arrived the kids took off looking for their friends, their parents forgotten for the moment. Both women headed to the choir room to make sure everything was ready. It would be another joint praise and worship session with the praise team and choir. Michelle was looking forward to it since today was her Sunday to lead. Collectively they decided to let Michelle lead three songs Beyoncé two and Toni three. They made sure that they had the right songs queued up on the projector. While the praise team sang the lyrics to the songs played on the screen behind them.
The choir got into position as did the praise team. When the musicians began to play they made their way into the sanctuary. They had decided to make praise and worship the 90s/2000s. They sang songs by Kirk Franklin, Kurt Carr, Donald Lawrence and Tri-city Singers, The Clark Sisters, Maureen Brown Clark, Mary Mary and a few others. As Michelle began singing she kept feeling like someone was watching her. She was deep into her song in the spirit but the feeling just wouldn't pass when she passed the next song to Beyoncé the feeling just wouldn't pass. When she opened her eyes to concentrate on the song they were singing her eyes connected with Amour. She frowned and shook her head getting herself back into the music and the spirit.
Service was a little longer than expected and when Pastor Jones opened the doors of the church, Amour came to the front with her son. Michelle frowned and Beyoncé noticed,it was something that she didn't like.
"Babe, what's wrong?" Beyoncé whispered to her fiance.
"It's her."
"Your energy been off since earlier."
"That's Amour and her son."
"Oh, babe it's okay. She's a non-factor. I love you." Beyoncé grabbed her hand and linked their fingers in an attempt to calm her nerves.
"I know baby, but her presence is just annoying me."
"You know what? Let's go. I'll send the kids a message and tell them to meet us at the car. Come on."
"Okay."
With that the couple quietly excused themselves, leaving the sanctuary, then the building all together. They waited for about two minutes for the kids to show up to the car and they went home. Their drive was quiet but during that time Beyoncé came up with a great idea. Parking the car in the garage she stopped the kids before they could rush into the house. She told them to put on the swim clothes and pack a bag with at least two outfits, along with swimming alternates. She and Michelle went into the house and did the same thing. Less than twenty minutes later the family was back in the car and heading to the highway. Michelle didn't question where Beyoncé was taking them, she knew she just needed to get away. Beyoncé was doing that for her, they ended up at Great Wolf Lodge Charlotte.
They spent two fun-filled family days at the hotel and waterpark. Their days were filled with playing games, swimming, going to the wave pool, riding the slides and just enjoying their family time. Beyoncé knew that even though Amour's sudden appearance was shaking Michelle's confidence, family time would always cheer her up. Kaleb was always telling some kind of story and Brielle's head was in a book. Times like this made the two women want to get married even faster. It now had them thinking that their wedding would definitely be non-traditional. What that non-tradition looked like they didn't know yet, they just knew it was going to be special. Wednesday morning when they checked out of the hotel they dropped the kids off at Aunt Charlene's instead of camp. The kids didn't feel like going and their parents weren't going to make him go. Beyoncé and Michelle headed to the wedding planner's office and got there just in time for their eleven am appointment.
