"I'm off, Akaashi-kun. Please lock up when you can." Osamu sighed, grabbing his belongings.
"Yes, sir." Akaashi lightly nodded, sweeping as Osamu had left. It had been 2 months since Akaashi had began working at a run-down convenience store in Shibuya, Tokyo. Though it was far from home, it was the only place hiring. Money was a major necessity, and he was lacking in that category. Osamu understood his situation and let him work their, as he was in dire need of new employees ever since the incidents began.
"Another body has just recently been discovered in the Shibuya District......"
All day, the small television on the counter had been playing the news, talking about the recent murders in the Shibuya District. Osamu had mentioned his previous employees all left in fear of becoming the next body to show up on the news channel. Akaashi didn't believe anything of the sort could happen to him. So far, all of the murders had been on the opposite side of Shibuya. There was nothing for Akaashi to worry about.
Akaashi had gotten used to working late nights, losing sleep just for the money. If you'd ask him, he'd say it was all worth it to get by. But he was tired. So damn tired.
He finished cleaning, putting away the broom in the back closet. 11:49. He sighed, realizing he wouldn't make it in time for the last train, meaning he'd have to walk all the way home at this late hour. Not that he was scared or anything.
He shut the lights off, turning the sign from "open" to "closed" just before locking the door.

"Aish.." Akaashi rubbed his eyes, feeling tired already. He glanced down at his watch, reading 01:03. He passed up an alley, but stopped, thinking he saw something moving.
"What the.." He mumbled, backing up to look into the alley. He stared for a while before shaking his head and sighing to himself. There was nothing. He turned around to leave, bumping into something.
"Oops-"
"Looking for something?" A voice said in a jovial tone. Akaashi looked up at what seemed to be the person he had bumped into.
"Uhm.. No.." Akaashi backed away a bit, his heart racing. His eyes darted down to the large bag the man was holding. His eyes widened as he looked at the bag, which seemed to be moving. He knees buckled. He wanted to run.
I need to go. Why can't I move? Damnit Akaashi just run..
He felt his stomach churn as he thought back to all he'd been hearing on the news these past days. There's no way he was unlucky enough to bump into the infamous murderer on the loose.
"You.." Akaashi started, trying his hardest to keep his voice steady.
"Me?" The guy chuckled, seemingly way too happy considering the current situation. Akaashi looked back up, meeting eyes with a bright, wide smile plastered on the other's face.
"Oh god.." All those sleepless nights had finally caught up to him, mixing with his fear and causing him to pass out on the spot.
No No No.. Now's not the time to sleep, dumbass.
The last thing he saw was that bright smile of the man in front of him as he fell to the ground. Could he get any more unlucky?
—————————————————————
It had been some time since he had passed out. This was the first time Akaashi had slept this well in a while. The sound of birds chirping could be heard through the open window. Akaashi yawned faintly as he sat up, scratching his fingers through his disheveled hair.
"God what a nightmare.." He mumbled to himself, sitting still to take a second to open his eyes and get accustomed to the morning light.
"What nightmare?" A voice asked cheerfully from beside him. Akaashi's eyes shot open. He looked towards the voice coming from beside him, staring into the eyes of the man he met yesterday. It took a moment for him to realize that he wasn't in his own house, nor was everything that happened previously a dream in the slightest.
Akaashi scanned the room, noticing the same bag he had saw yesterday.
"Uh..nothing.. So what's in the bag..?" He asked cautiously, keeping his eyes on the bag. At the sound of Akaashi's voice, the bag squirmed, letting out 'Mmphs!' and such. Yesterday's lunch got caught in his throat.
The man sighed and quickly went to the bag, kicking it hard, receiving a loud wail in return.
"This is my buddy for a bit~" He said, sounding genuinely excited.
Akaashi put his hand over his mouth, tears welling in his eyes.
Maybe I'll be okay if I go along with it.
"I-I see.. That's nice but I do need to get going.. I have work.." He laughed nervously, slowly getting up and keeping his eyes on the other, who was most definitely larger than Akaashi.
"But I made you breakfast.." He pouted. Akaashi eyed the man.
Is this some kind of sick joke?
He looked him up and down, taking in his spiky gray and black hair, his sparkly golden eyes, his well-built body, but then back up to his genuine pout.
Just cooperate..
"Ehm... I'll eat then.. But can I leave after, please?" Akaashi sat back down, speaking gently to the other.
"Great!" The other grabbed the plate of pancakes that he made and placed them on the coffee table in front of Akaashi, ignoring the question he had asked.
"I'm Bokuto, by the way. What's your name?" This 'Bokuto' asked happily, sitting on the floor on the other side of the coffee table, giving Akaashi space.
Akaashi hesitated before answering.
"Akaashi..." He gulped and looked down at the plate.
"Your first name?" Bokuto tilted his head as he asked.
"Keiji."
"That's a pretty name." Bokuto rocked back and forth, holding onto his feet.
"It's only fair if you tell me your first name.." Akaashi looked at him, eating hesitantly.
"Koutarou!" He smiled. "Oh, you won't tell on me, will you?"
Akaashi looked over at the body bag before shaking his head, not wanting to end up like that poor person.
"You're the best, Keiji~" Bokuto smiled wide, watching Akaashi as he ate.
Is this really the guy killing all of those people on the news..?
