Me and Celeste finished eating our bananas and get ready to explore more.
"Maybe we should go the other way this time?" I suggested.
"Yeah, good idea!" Celeste said skipping towards the wrecked plane.
'She's way to happy to be stranded in a jungle..' I thought.
She carried on skipping and gasped. I was still far behind so couldn't see what she was looking at.
"Uh.. Celeste? You okay there?" I asked as I saw her about to explode with what looked like excitement.
"MARIA LOOK A VILLAGE!!!" She squealed.
"What? Are you serious?" I asked not believe a word.
She didn't even reply. She just ran to where this "village" was. I ran behind not feeling like getting left behind.
"Wait up!" I shouted.
To my surprise... she wasn't lying. A beautiful village with palm trees and a beach at the edge. The villagers looked so happy. If only I could feel the same way. It reminded me too much of home. It was emotional but I didn't dare shed a tear.
"We should introduce ourselves! Maybe they could help us!" Celeste said jumping up and down.
I didn't want to follow but did anyway. None of the villagers spoke or acted like where weren't natives, they just continued with their lives like usual. From what I could see it was a pretty middle class village. Not poor nor rich. Unfortunately for us where weren't looking where we were going. We bumped into someone forming some sort of human sandwich looking situation.
"We are so sorry!" I said in a panic.
"It's no problem!" They replied.
It was a boy. Young, tanned skin, brown eyes and holding a basket full of fruit. He was like a prince... But maybe I'm going to far into things. I'm not that type of girl. I've never wanted a boyfriend. But we're getting off track.
"I'm Romeo." He said with a charming smile. He put down the fruit basket and held out his hand.
"I'm Celeste and this is Maria!" She said pointing in my direction.
"May we ask where we are?" I said not wanted to introduce myself further.
He put his hand down awkwardly.
"You're in Puerto Rico! Welcome to our village." God why did we have to bump into a handsome boy. I was gonna lose myself looking at him.
"You're not from here are you?" Only then I notice how good at English he is.
"No.. we aren't. How would you know?" Celeste asked.
"Well, I know everyone in the village. I've never seen you two before." He said followed by a laugh. "I better get back now, my mother is expecting me back."
I was just about to turn around to head back when Romeo spoke again.
"I'm sure she won't mind if you stay with us for a while." I turned and went to grab Celeste's hand.
"We would love to! Right Maria?"
"Well.." I didn't get the chance to finish before Celeste dragged me by the arm to a little hut.
We walked in and it was beautiful decorated.
"Madre, he vuelto del mercado!" Romeo shouted to a middle aged woman who appeared from a different room.
TRANSLATION (Correct me if I'm wrong): "Mother, I'm back from the market!"
"¡Oh Dios! ¡estábamos empezando a morir de hambre aquí!" She replied very happily.
TRANSLATION: Oh good! We were starting to starve here.
"My mother.." he whispered.
There were a few other sat a table at the end of the room.
"Why I don't introduce you to the rest of my family?" He said walking over to them.
"Valeria! quiero conocer a alguien." To who looked like his younger sister.
TRANSLATION: Valeria! I want you to meet someone.
"H-hola.." she replied shyly.
Celeste walked over to the young girl and shook her hand so fast I'm surprised neither of their arms fell off. Valeria which I guessed to be the girls name gave me and Celeste an awkward smile before walking into a different room.
'Wow Maria. Not awkward AT ALL.' I was pretty mad at myself for not being polite enough to say hello.
"So.. food should be done soon I'm sure they'll be some left over for you girls to eat.
"Oh good! I was just starting to get hungry!" She said clapping her hands like a toddler. Even though we couldn't have eaten more than 20 minutes ago. I just looked away not wanted to say something and make a bad impression.
"You can meet that rest of my family of my family tomorrow. You could stay here maybe?" Romeo said with puppy eyes.
"WE WOULD LOVE TO!!!" Celeste was wayyyy to happy. Romeo showed us to a spare room and we thanked him. After he left I realised me and Celeste needed to talk.
"Are you serious?! We have barely known him an hour now we are staying in his house?! Really?!" I was pretty mad to say the least.
"Come on, it's no big deal!" She said trying to reassure me.
"No big deal? Really?!" I noticed then we were missing something. I didn't realise how long I had been there staring into space.
"Helloooo? Earth to Maria?" She waved her hand in front of my face. It was enough to make me snap out of it.
"We need to go back!" I snapped.
"But why? It's nice here." She said getting down and knees so I wouldn't drag her out of there.
"Haven't you noticed? We don't even have our bags!"
"Oh well you're right there.. we have to tell Romeo." She said jogging out. I followed behind to find her already taking to Romeo, who had his mouth full so couldn't respond.
"Oh yeah that's fine!" And so we left knowing we would soon be back.A/N: I would continue this but I'm lazy so I'll continue this in the next chapter. Bye byeeee!
