"Kimberly wait" Miguel called after her, but was just not in the mood, last thing she wanted to do now was to see his face. she felt disgusted, with him, herself and everything.

how could he betray her like that, how could he bring her to the ball only to end up leaving her for Marianna

"get in" Dylan said parking his car before her

"I'm okay"

"don't be stubborn" he said coming out to open the door for her

"thank you" she said entering his car

"about what happe..............

"can we not talk about it" Kimberly said cutting him off

"where should I drop you?" he asked

"the bar"

"okay'

the ride to the bar was rather a long one, she couldn't get the image out of her head, if he knew he didn't want her, why did he invite her and decide to humiliate her, even if he wanted to, not with Marianna. 

"should i come pick you up later?"

"no, i'll manage and thank you" she said before existing his car.

she was going to enjoy herself and get drunk and no one would stop her, maybe this was the distraction she needed after all she had been working hard these past few weeks and now was the perfect time to.

"two more shots please" Kimberly ordered another set of shots making it the eight shot she was going to drink

"make it four" Kendall said joining her

"what are you doing here?" Kimberly asked

"same thing you're doing here, having a drink

"did your brother send you?"

"unfortunately no, but if its my brother i know so well, he'll be here for you pretty soon"

"then we better leave, that is if you want to come with me"

"so where are we going to?" Kendall asked

"your houses" Miguel replied

"the chauffeur is waiting for you in the car, i have something to discuss with Kimberly

"I have nothing to discuss with you" she said turning away, but she was too late because he had grabbed her hand

"get going Kendall"

"fine" she replied before leaving both of them alone

"let go of my hand you jerk" she said finally pulling her arm away from his grip  "what do you want from me"

"about earlier"

"I don't care about what you do with your personal life, its really none of my business, but you shouldn't have humiliated me like that"

"I know and I'm sorry"

"Miguel you really owe me nothing, so just stop this"

"then why are you mad at me if I really don't owe you a thing?"

"you humiliated me and not just with anyone, with Marianna, who happens to be married to my father, your partner and my worst enemy"

"and I said I'm sorry, what else do you want from me?"

"what's between you and her" she asked

"I think that's you going too personal" Miguel replied

"you know what, you're right, i shouldn't concern myself with your personal life" Kimberly said just as her friend Luke walked in

"girl, you're wasted" Luke said seeing her

"like I care" she replied rolling her eyes at him 

"are you ready?" he asked her

"sure" she replied him          "I have to go now Mr. Railings, we'll see at the office" she told him before walking off with Luke not waiting for his reply

Miguel knew better than to go after her, the best thing was for him to give her space, he had been working with her for sometime now and he was getting used to her behavior. Kimberly is such a sweet young girl, but he knew she could be a nightmare if she decided to. he didn't mean for any of what happened to happened and that was the reason he invited her, to distract himself because he knew she would be there and it would be difficult to stay away from her.

"oh f*ck, I'm damn late" Kimberly said getting up from the bed

"I tried waking you up"

"I have a meeting with the board and Mr. Thomas Railings in the next thirty minutes"

"should I drop you off"

"no, I'll take your car and return it"

"sure, but make sure you don't bash my car"

"I'll be sure not to"

she had over slept and she couldn't afford to be late for the meeting, her father, the directors and both Miguel and his father would be there for the meeting. the meeting is just about briefing the directors about the progress of the partnership and if there was any other pending issues regarding the partnership.

luckily for her, she got in right in time, just as they were about settling down for the meeting. Gloria who was her secretary had already put all what she needed in place, she couldn't help but smile gratefully at her as she sat down.

"Miss Bridge, you should know you're meant to be present before the main meeting begins" Mr. Louis said making all heads turn in her direction. she didn't expect less from Louis, he would go to any extent to discredit her or her works.

"thank you for your observation Mr. Louis, but in cases like this is why we have Mr. Vince to act instead and he's been doing so pretty well" Kimberly answered. she wasn't in the best of mood today and she didn't want Louis to add to what was doing her

"can we proceed with the meeting?" Ricardo announced

"we're here to talk about the partnership that both companies have ventured into for the past few weeks" Miguel said showing some slides    "we've managed to secure some contracts with the government which will further help in meeting the needs of these people"

"as we all know, the major purpose of this alliance is not mainly for the gain, it is for the good and betterment of the people in need, the betterment of people that has been forgotten" Kimberly added

"I know a lot of you are skeptical of the funding and how you'll get your investment back, but let me tell you this, this is the wisest decision you all have ever made" Miguel continued

"these infrastructures will bring in a lot of investors and before we know it these areas will be fully developed" Kimberly added 

the meeting went on for about two hours before finally coming to an end after both parties were satisfied with the outcome.

"Gloria you're a lifesaver" Kimberly said hugging Gloria immediately she got to her office"

"I was just doing my job" Gloria smiled

"common, don't be modest with me, I know I've not appreciated you enough these past few years, but I promise from now on I would"

"you're very kind Miss Bridge"

"just call me Kimberly"

"okay kim................

"Miss Bridge" Thomas said entering unannounced 

"I'll be at my desk" Gloria said excusing herself

"Thomas, I thought you left already" Kimberly said standing up to welcome him

"I had something to discuss with my son" Thomas said, but from the look on his face, she knew it was something serious

"so what is this something if I may ask?"

"It's about him getting married to you"
