"Who's daddy's little princess? Who's daddy's little girl? Yes, that's you, sweet Love. You're daddy's precious little miracle, yes, you are."
A smile slowly spread across Yo's face as the sweet words Pha was saying to their daughter gently brought him out of a sound sleep. He rolled over on his side, warmth filling his chest at the sight of Pha sitting by the bedroom window, holding Love up and peppering tiny kisses all over her face. Love, of course, was cooing and giggling, kicking her little feet in delight at the attention her daddy was giving her.
Yo silently snagged his phone from under his pillow, and snapped a few pictures, making one of the shots his new lockscreen.
"Sneaky. Isn't your mommy sneaky?" Pha teased.
Yo's chin lifted. "Not sneaky. Couldn't let this moment go by without a picture."
Pha merely smiled at him. He had Love nestled in his lap, and she, too, was gazing at Yo, gumming on her fist. She gurgled and squealed when Yo waggled his fingers at her and blew a raspberry.
"I'm still tired," Yo sighed, falling back against his pillow. He checked his phone for the time. "You don't have a class until ten. What're you doing up already?" It's only five in the morning. Aish.
"I'm used to Love waking us up early, so I just woke up. Couldn't go back to sleep yet, so I went to check on Love even though she hadn't made a peep. And," Pha's expression changed to something faraway, somewhat dreamy. "I was picturing what she'd look like when she starts school in a few years. She'll probably look just like you, except long hair."
Yo narrowed his eyes. "Hey, why are you trying to age my little girl before her time?"
"Your little girl?" Pha smirked.
"Mine."
"She's half mine, too."
"Yes, but I did all the hard work of carrying her around while she was developing, then endured the pain of pushing her out of my body. That makes her three-fourths mine."
Pha chuckled. "Fine, she's three-fourths yours. But I still claim that remaining fourth."
Yo wrinkled his nose playfully. "Bring Love to the bed. We can all cuddle together."
Soon, all three were curled around each other in the king bed: Pha on one side, Yo on the other, and Love carefully nestled between them. She was already dozing back off, safe and secure with her parents on either side. Yo's only class today was after lunch, so he quickly followed Love back into dreamland. Pha stayed awake a few minutes longer, feeling quite soft about being with his fiance and daughter like this.
If he'd been asked back in high school if he could see himself having a family, he would've laughed that person out of the country. He'd never seen himself as a family man. That is, until Yo had fallen pregnant, and then actually meeting Love...everything had changed Pha. He adored their daughter, was absolutely thrilled at being a daddy, and loved that Yo had been the one to give her to him. Yo had no clue that when Pha had called them both his miracles, he'd been serious. Yo was the miracle that had changed him from being a selfish playboy-like person - not unlike Beam had been - to a caring and gentle partner. And Love was the one, from the moment they'd discovered her on the ultrasound monitor, that had changed him into a real daddy. Looking back, he wouldn't change a thing. Well...maybe what idiocy he'd spouted back in high school that poor Yo had overheard, but other than that, he would still want to have Love when they did.
