My name is Sean. Sean Scofield. My story may be weird, and even unbelievable in the beginning, but the only thing I want to do is explain how my life changed in a matter of seconds and how unexpected events lead me to the best thirty days of my entire life.
Meeting Genevieve was not something I planned. It was just something that happened. I had no idea of why in that precise moment, but I guess that's how fate is. It is crazy, and it makes things more complicated. But would you believe me if I told you that what I remember the most about my life were those beautiful days?

Thirty Days with Genevieve
Chapter One
For some reason, I always did something stupid at parties, and Heather's party was no exception. I truly wanted to impress her because I had liked her for a long amount of time. I wanted to acquire her, which is just a less rude way of saying that I wanted to have sex with her.
"Aren't you going to get in the pool?" Heather asked. She flipped her black hair and smiled, trying to persuade me.
I shook my head. I didn't like swimming. The only reason why I went to the party was to see Heather in her bikini. Swimming was never one of my favorite hobbies. In fact, I kind of hated to swim. I only went to parties because I liked to hook up with girls and be wild.
"Sorry, I don't swim," I said.
"Then why are you here?" she asked, confused.
Her green eyes stared at me as if looking for an explanation, and I honestly did not want to tell her the reason why I was there because she would get offended, which would mess everything up. I really liked her, and I did not want her to think I was a jerk, even if I was, so I decided to lie.
"Because of the snacks." I took a bag of chips from a little table that was by my side and opened it. "Your chips are the best ones I have ever eaten."
"Are you sure you aren't getting in the pool? I'm feeling lonely," she said, making a puppy face.
Frankly, I did not really care if she was feeling lonely, but I needed to make a good impression, and I could not be rude to her. Furthermore, it was her birthday and allowing her to be alone in her pool would be a douche move.
"Okay, I'm getting in the pool, but that's just because I don't want you to feel lonely on your birthday," I said, standing up and getting in the pool.
I did not really feel like ruining my chances with her. Heather could be many things, but ugly was not one of them. She was one of the hottest girls at school, and sleeping with her would not only be fully pleasant; it woould also enhance my chances with other girls, for they would see me as almost unreachable and would try their best to get me to sleep with them.
"Thank you," Heather said as I slowly got in the pool.
"Look who joined us!" exclaimed Nathan, my best friend. His dark brown eyes stared at me eagerly.
Nathan and I had been friends since a long time ago, and he was not as much as a jerk as I was. He even had a girlfriend, which was something that I had promised myself that I would never have. Commitment was my worst enemy. It sounds bad, I know, but that was just the way it was with me. I could not commit for more than two days, and even two days were a lot of time to me.
Girls came and went, but they never stayed. I never allowed them to. They hated me for it, but what else could I do? Allow them to break my heart, just like one had done years ago?
