- Chapter 8 -

Recap:

He clicks on the link, and images start popping up of a little girl with h/c hair and e/c eyes.

"It's her.." Bakugo says to himself as he clicks on a old news article talking about a horrible incident that destroyed a whole street.

All of the sudden Bakugo stands up in horror, his chair falling down behind him.

"U-uh- what the hell?-"

"Katsuki are you okay?" Bakugo's mom calls him from the living room.

Bakugo remains speechless, his eyes glued to his laptop screen.

"I-I'm fine old hag." He shouts back.

Bakugo slowly inches closer towards his desk, lifting up his chair and sitting back down.

He scrolls the first article that pops up, it covers through small paragraphs a missing person's case, highlights of a quirk malfunction, and the arrest of the one million dollar organization QUERK™.

After finishing the article, he moves on to the next, then the next, but they all say the same things.

Name: Y/N L/N,

Pronouns: She/her

Age: 7

Status: missing; presumed dead.

He reads through one of the more detailed articles, but even that article doesn't have that much information.

At the age of four, y/n's quirk was said to have malfunctioned, taking the lives of her family along with other civilians surrounding the area.

15 injured and 35 deceased.

authorities were able to identify three bodies as S/N L/N, M/N L/N, and D/N L/S. But Y/N's body was never found.

3 years later, a recorded incident similar to before took place at one of QUERK's laboratories. It was only after future investigating that authorities discovered that both incidents were, in fact, connected.

QUERK has been reportedly having parents come in with their kids and getting them tested to see what kind of quirks they have. When in reality, QUERK has been kidnapping young infants and torturing them to gather information on quirks before they steal them from said children.

(in simpler terms, testing and taking quirks from kids, kinda like how AFO takes quirks)

A child was found dead in a cage, and QUERK admitted that another child ran away and is now missing. The identity of the runaway child was later leaked as y/n l/n.

After 2 more years of searching, investigators still couldn't find her and dropped the case, writing it off as 'presumed dead'.

Bakugo trembles in his chair,

"I- that's where I remember her from." He frowns, small tears in his eyes, unnoticeable to anyone who looked.

(I updated chapter 3, so now the torture scene took place when she was 5. Just so u know)

Deciding to forget about what he searched up, he gets ready for bed, finishing the little homework he was given, and tries his best to fall asleep. Finally succeeding after a couple of hours.
