The Beginning (Part 1)

SHADOW DOGS

It was a very hot and sticky day and it smelled of dew and tree sap. That smell was normal for Max. He lived in the hills where the sun sets late at night and rises early in the morning.
    Max, a tall lanky kid was just writing in his journal about his day and he enjoyed the way the ink went onto the page and the smell of the ink made him happy.
    It was almost nightfall and he was joyfully writing to his heart's content and then he heard something weird. It was a crunching squishing noise like footsteps in slushy snow.

  He looked up and looked around and tried to find where it was and he saw something out of the corner of his eye. It was a tail! And it was sleek silver and black and he got an eerie ominous feeling.

   He suddenly realized it was a HUGE wolf and it seemed bigger than him even! The wolf barked and it was so loud it sent a shockwave that sent his journal flying out of his hand. It shocked him at first but then it was gone as fast as he saw it. "Weird... he thought "dogs aren't out at this time of year......." he sighed  and he picked his book and continued to write but then his mother called him in.

    He went in thinking about the wolf. It was worrying to him that he loved wolves. They made him get adrenaline .When He got close to one he wished he was a wolf he thought he was one in a spiritual way.

He said to his mom " mom? Did you see wolves running on the tree line that separates us from the village ?"

His mother replied  " no? Uh...d-did you?"

Max muttered "y-yea its weird their not supposed to be out" He finished his food quickly and went to his bedroom to look for the woods.He watched intently quietly saying "c'mon, c'mon!" . He was getting tired he was about to give up when his mother yelped

" AHHH HELP WITCHCRAFT!,WITCHCRAFT!". Max got up and ran down stairs and saw a wolf in the kitchen reeking havoc destroying stuff,throwing stuff, and eating. He tried to grab the wolf but it moved out of the way.

    Max yelled "WHAT THE...." then he got tackled by the wolf and it pinned him to the floor with its powerful jaws and made it harder for max to breathe  Max tried to push it off but it had a good hold on him but then he slipped out and got away, Max ran to grab his rifle but it was gone.

    Max barked " WHERE'S THE RIFLE?!?!".  Delilah replied"WHAT FOR?!?!". Max said in a scared way "THE WOLVES !" Delilah looked at Max in a scared way and said " WHAT WOLVES ?!?!"  Max said in an angry and confused voice " WHAT DO YOU MEAN ?" " WHAT WOLVES?"
Delilah said in a curious voice " There are no wolves here!"

Max frantically looks around and finds it and quickly says "I SEE IT " finds the rifle and points it at the wolf. The wolf stopped and started to back away growling at Max, Max raises his voice and lowers his pitch and yells  " WHAT ARE YOU SCARED WOLF?!" The wolf started to leave quickly,  it turned around and ran at max and it charged Max with teeth bared and claws out and growling

Max pulled the trigger and the gun fired but it didn't seem to phase the wolf. Max realized it went  through the wolf and Max said  "HUH? What the?!"

    The wolf started to leave and got out of the door and left it walked in a way that worried Max and he didn't like it,  it made his skin crawl

Max sighed and looked at mom and in a tired voice said "w-we s-should clean this up? Huh"

Delilah looked  super tired and didn't wanna do anything except sleep "not now ...I need sleep"

Max looked around and fiddles with his hat he had on and turned to his mother and said " Go to sleep mother I'll clean this mess up"

Max's mother went to bed and max could hear the bed frame as she got on the bed then Max got to work
