Ch. 2- The day before Paris

Kari POV
I was getting ready for tomorrow. We had to leave in the morning. So i was packing. I had on a pair of short shorts that had rips in them and a light blue tanktop. We could only bring 2 bags with us so i grabbed the 2 biggest bags. I was putting all my clothes in. Even the clothes i just got for paris. I repainted the room purple and pink. I also refurnished. I have a queen sized purple and pink zebra striped bed, a dresser, a side table, a desk, and a furry chair. I heard a knock on the door.
" It's open." I yelled. I heard the door open and i turned around. It was jerry. " Hey Jer. Whats up?"
" Paris is wonderful. Jack is worried because..."
" I dont need to know. It's ok." I interrupted.
" You need to know and jack refuses to tell you. He already lost his girlfriend kim when she moved away and he cant go though that again. That's why he hasn't asked you out. And he almost lost you that night only a few months ago. He's scared. Even though he likes to pretend to always be strong and calm." He finished.
" I didnt know." I sat down on my bed.
" Now you do. So you know that jack needs some time."
" Ya."
" So how you doing?"
" What?" He pointed to my two full suit cases on the bed.
" Why do they have to limit it? I mean seriously one month in paris and this is what they give me."
" If your having trouble think of how im doing."
" Guys dont need much. Girls do."
" Ha ha. Guys need a lot."
" Like what hair gel and stuff to pick up girls with?"
" No. Thats not all." We laughed.
" Well i have to get ready before tomorrow. Bye jerry. Thanks for telling me about jack." I gave him a hug.
" Are you cheating on me?" Someone said sarcastically. I turn around and saw a smiling jack.
" How dare you look into my room? How often do you do that?" I smiled and put my hands on my hip.
" When do you have your door open?" Jerry said laughing. I smack him and jack with a pillow. I looked at jerry.
" Get out." Jerry walked to the door and jack turn too. " Not you jack. Your still in trouble." Jack turn back around and walk to my bed where i was sitting.
" Why does he get to stay?" Jerry pouted. He looked at me. " Oohhh. Got you. I'll put a do not disturb sign on your door for you."
" Jerry!" I screamed and he walked out closing the door.
" What did you guys talk about?" Jack looked at me.
" Nothing. But we need to talk."
" Ok. Shoot."
" You saved me. The guys told me. Why?" He looked down then got up. " No we need to talk about this." I grabbed his hand. When i realised what i did i let go immediately. He turned and looked at me.
" I cant tell you."
" I know you lost kim. Im not her i know you almost lost me but im not that person any more. Jack i need to hear it from you. Jerry already told me but i need to hear it from you. Please tell me?" I pleaded. He sat down and turned so he was facing me.
" Kim was my girlfriend since we were kids. Then came the end of highschool and she moved away. I gave all those years to her and she leaves. You were the only other girl i got close to and you left. I cant do that again i cant do that again."
" I've been lied to my whole life. People say they care but they really dont. My father just wanted that scroll. Ky was never really my friend and my mother died when i was a kid. She was the only who loved me. She would say ' No matter what you have a light inside of you. You can make a change for the better.' My mom was the only one who kept my dad from enrolling me in his soldier camp. When she died my dad started training me to steel and sneek past people and lie. My father looked for the scroll and ky spied on you guys i was alone. Raising myself to be a perfect soldier so my own dad would love me." I cried and jack scooted next to me and gave me a hug.
" I wont let anyone hurt you ever again." He said to me. I lifted my head so i was looking in his eyes. They looked sincer.
" I wont let anything hurt you either." I said. I knew then that i loved him. And he loved me. He leaned down and kissed me. It was a soft kiss that lasted only for a second. When he pulled away. I knew he would never leave my side.
" I like you a lot." I said. Then quickly got up and going to the opposite side of the room realizing what i said.i turned red. That was so embarrassing. He got up to. Coming to me.
" Im sorry. I didn't mean to say that."
" Do you feel that way?" I didn't know what to say. I just stood there and slightly nodded.
" It's ok. I feel that way to." He lifted my head with two fingers.
" You do?" I looked him in the eyes.
" So. Would you like to be my girlfriend?" I looked shocked. Just a second ago he was scared of getting hurt. Now this.
" I dont know. I dont want to get hurt. I dont want you to get hurt." I looked down again. He picked me up by the waist and sat me on the bed. Then he got down so he was looking at me directly in the eyes.
" I know you wont hurt me. And you better believe I would never ever hurt you. I like you too much to let that happen." He looked serious. I still didnt know what would happen but i liked him.
" Ok. I'll be your girlfriend." He smiled and gave me a big hug. He left and i spent the rest of the day packing for the trip.
